#1 - Al Ash Lad (NEXT BEST) - $5.50

#3 - Enterprise Jewel - $8.50
#2 - Desert Mist - $3.80
BEST BET - #2 - Desert Mist
Matty Dunn is dominating the market with this race, having both the current favourite and second favourite and I think this is a particularly good spot for Al Ash Lad who rates as one of the highest overall horses at the meeting tomorrow as well as one of the highest differentials to second place overall in the days’ meeting. He won three back here and can replicate that effort coming off the back of a very game second placing over the 1300m at Ballina where he looked to box along very nicely. He will be fit, ready for the trip and keen now.
THE DANGER - #6 - Daedalus
Matty Dunn also send forward Daedalus who is the third line of betting in this field but I actually think that despite his poor win rate (2 / 28) he looks to be in for a big prep this time around and can get a well deserved win here. He gets the booking of Ben Thompson off the back of his last run where he came from super deep in a big field over the Mile at Coffs to beat all but the winner who had the perfect setup. He now gets a jockey upgrade, will be hard fit and maps for a nice run in transit and this race isn’t overly deep.
VALUE BET - #3 - Enterprise Jewel
Enterprise Jewel is an interesting runner who, at this best, has what it takes to win this. He was with the O’Dea / Hoystead camp for some time before being sold to John Shelton earlier this year and has had three runs now for his new stable. None of them have been poor performances and he did come off a long spell and usually takes a few runs to get going and last time out he finished just behind the placegetters over the 1400m at Casino where he really only got going late in the piece and now looks like this distance will be suitable. Not an overly strong field, if he brings his best he wins.
