Friday Racing Tips - Muswellbrook Racecourse 05/04/23

Friday racing returns to Muswellbrook for an eight race card consisting of races over sprint distance to the mid distance races later in the card. The track has been downgraded to a heavy 8 which means we can definitely find a bit of value with some genuine Wet trackers and there is a total of $485,000 of prize available on the card. It should make for a good day of betting and I am keen to get stuck into things..

BEST BET - #4 - The Eyes Have It (BEST BET)

The Eyes Have It looks to have been brought here for a soft kill for his third career start under Nathan Doyle and I think at evens he’s a good bet. He’s had a tick over trial at Beaumont after last racing in a Group Three at Rosehill where he finished near the back but wasn’t disgraced at all. His debut run reads well enough for this as well and with plenty of upside I think Doyle gets an early winner here.

THE DANGER - #5 - Incantress
Incantress has looked very good in his trial runs to lead him into racing for Kris Lees and he can definitely take this out under Dylan Gibbons. His two most recent efforts have seen him trial at Muswellbrook when being asked to get going late and he has behind two horses who have since debuted and won before again only being asked for the effort late in his last trial and doing the same. He looks set to make a big debut off the back of both of those.

VALUE BET  - #3 - Supreme Statement
I think that Supreme Statement must have had some issues on debut for the Jones camp and isn’t one to discount here. He might have dropped out of that race but prior to doing so he showed great speed when steadying after the jump and racing near the front for the majority of the run. I am not sure he wins this but I think that he balances up well here.

BEST BET - #4 - One Beat No Beat
One Beat No Beat looks like the horse to beat as the name suggests. He has won two from six and placed in a further three and comes out of a big $150k race at Scone last time out in the company of Sharp Shock and That’s Molly, which are superior form lines for this race, where she powered home from not the easiest of spots to finish fourth. I think she gets her third win in seven starts here.

THE DANGER - #5 - Ollie's Secret
OIlie’s Secret has struggled this campaign but I think there has been genuine excuses in a few of the runs and he can improve sharply into this. He last stepped out at Scone when chasing hard out wide despite not being a winning threat and I think getting in here with a good draw and at limit weight he should be able to improve sharply.

VALUE BET  - #9 - Himorher (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) 
Himorher seems to have really come of age in this most recent campaign and I think he shapes up very well off the back of a win last time out at this course where he drifted to the rear of the field in the first half of the race but worked home well widest on the corner before really letting down in the straight to chase home hard and clock a big win from the back from which he rates very highly off the back of it. I think that he can make it three wins from four campaign starts now.

BEST BET - #9 - The Dramatist (NEXT BEST)
The Dramatist looks very well positioned to roll the favourite here for Rob Northam and has a very good second up record so I think that he will be improving sharply into this. He resumed off of a 12 week break at Scone over the 1000m when running home well from the back to finish midfield but he generally improves very sharply second up and has two wins and two placings in five second up runs so I think from the good draw he’s going to be very prominent here.

THE DANGER - #2 - Silvanito
Silvanito is being backed with a tonne of confidence and I can understand why. He resumed off of a 26 week spell last time out at Wyong when coming for his first start under Doyle over from the Godolphin camp and he ran very well then with a strong kick in the home straight to place second to a sharp horse in Commemorative. He pulled up with Thumps post race and I think without any problems now he’s going to be tough to catch.

VALUE BET - #5 - French Marine 
French Marine didn’t show too much last time out but does come back to race at a Country level now and I think with Gibbons aboard they can show some strength here. He wasn’t able to make too much ground last time out at Warwick Farm when buried deep in the run and chasing home into midfield but those types were a lot stronger than what he meets here and with a good steer he can feature here.
