Friday Racing Tips - Sale Racecourse 07/07/23

A great nine race card is set for Sale Racecourse down south tomorrow and there is $340k prize money available across the card with a diverse range of racing that sees four maidens to kick us off followed by racing in mixed grades, the majority of races are run over the 1100m with a couple staying contests and the rest being around the mid distances. I have gone through the card and picked out my best betting spots so follow me below for another exciting day of racing as we build a bankroll into the black type racing this weekend!

Sale R1 - Ladbrokes Hub Mdn Plate (1208m)

Selections:
#6 - Nefertiti's Secret (NEXT BEST) - $2.20
#4 - Ra Ra Grandpa - $2.40
#1 - Aerospace - $7.00
#2 - Dream Storm - $26.00

BEST BET - #6 - Nefertiti's Secret (NEXT BEST)
The Kavanagh trained Nefertiti’s secret should likely run to her price here and I think she is short enough now that I wouldn’t get on anything less than the odds on quote. She’s been worked along nicely for a staying contest like this, this prep. She had a few runs at the mile before stepping out to 2000m+ where she has gone very close in her past two and clocked some nice times in the process. This field doesn’t look any deeper than what she has been contesting and should be at just about peak now. Stackhouse is on and with a half decent steer she will be in the finish.

THE DANGER - #4 - Ra Ra Grandpa
Wiremu Pinn takes the reins on the Mike Kent trained Ra Ra Grandpa who also looks to have been worked along quite nicely for this. He kicked off the campaign with two build up runs at the 1500m and 1800m but worked home very well in both to finish in the placings and then went to Rosehill in Saturday grade out to the 2000m but was never headed in a tough BM72 contest before coming to Wyong where he was ridden hard under pressure but couldn’t finish the race off. I think he will be ridden a bit more conservatively now and should be more than ready for the trip. Go close.

VALUE BET  - #1 - Aerospace
The Rob Frost trained Aerospace should be a decent chance in this not overly strong staying contest and has been very close to shedding the maiden tag a number of times in his thirteen career starts but should be the best chance he gets now. He resumed off of a 23 week spell at Pakenham two back over the 1400m where he kept finding the line when third. He then raced at Geelong in the Heavy over the 1800m where he showed good fight but couldn’t get there in the wet. Gets back on top of the ground a bit more now and will be fit and ready for the trip.

Sale R3 - Simics Betta Home Living Mdn PLate (1100m)

Selections:
#4 - Graewazi - $3.90
#5 - Graysong - $3.90
#12 - Dowager Duchess (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $16.00
#11 - Zousmic - $14.00

BEST BET - #4 - Graewazi
Graewazi is a juvenile for the Jerome Hunter stable that I really liked the look of at the Jumpouts and is bred very well. He’s a half brother to Barb Raider, the twice G2 winner and has shown quite a lot already in her few Jumpouts. The most recent of which was two back at Mornington over the 900m where she showed great speed to motor to the lead and hold them all at bay. Cartwright is on and can’t see them running badly here.

THE DANGER - #5 - Graysong
It’s pretty hard to ignore the Mick Price and Michael Kent trained Graysong who is returning here off of a long 22 week spell after just the two run debut prep and looks very astutely placed here. He was a $160,000 yearling who’s dam won the Rupert Clarke and he showed plenty of promise in his first prep when placing in back to back runs in town. He won an 800m Cranbourne Jumpout recently where he trucked along and looks good for the return now.

VALUE BET  - #12 - Dowager Duchess (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Dowager Duchess is representing the mighty Waterhouse / Bott stable for this assignment under Wiremu Pinn and she has been trialling very nicely for this assignment. She’s a well bred filly who will likely attempt to lead from barrier one and based on her most recent two trials, which have had a combined three subsequent winners emerge, it could be a winning strategy. She won a Randwick trial two back where she showed good speed to motor up underneath them and kept finding the line nicely before being quietly ridden in her last trial. I suspect the most recent was for fitness and I would be keeping a close eye on her.

Sale R5 - Sanlam Private Wealth (Bm64) (1100m)

Selections:
#6 - Prancing Queen (BEST BET) - $4.80
#9 - Bel Thronum - $4.00
#3 - Schwoon - $12.00
#2 - He's Essential - $4.40

BEST BET - #6 - Prancing Queen (BEST BET)
Can’t knock winning form and the Mick Ellerton trained Prancing Queen has done very little wrong this time in for the stable. She’s had just the one run in the Heavy at Bendigo over this distance two weeks ago when resuming off a 19 week spell where she relished the track conditions, driving along the rails to take the lead inside the last 75m and win softly with plenty more to offer. She went back to the paddock last prep a winner in similar conditions and sticks at this distance, gets another wet track and should have plenty to offer second up.

THE DANGER - #9 - Bel Thronum
A lot of noise around the Jerome Hunter trained Bel Thronum who kicked off last campaign against older opposition three back at Mornington before sticking at the track and easily shedding the maiden tag second up in a thin race and then going to Cranbourne last time out where she made strong ground from out wide but couldn’t get there when second to The Hass. She came off a Mornington Jumpout at the end of last month where she seemingly was moving very nicely and I think she will run well here first up.

VALUE BET - #3 - Schwoon
The market is already giving a tonne of respect to Schwoon who has been backed into $12 from $17 at the time of writing this. He’s had just the six career starts with a win and placing and resumed off a long 33 week spell at Moe in the Heavy a couple weeks ago where he raced a bit erratically and battled along the rail but the jockey noted it was just too wet for him there. He gets the blinkers on now which is positive for his racing manners, is a second up winner and should be strong here. Giving respect to the market giving him respect as well.

I think that we have to tread lightly with a multi on such a competitive day of racing with so many of these horses having been geared for the races on this card. As such, I have given favour to those horses who have drawn good gates, are well weighted and who have top jockeys on as these factors can be all the advantage you need for a win in the circumstances. Best Promotions for Sale Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
