Friday Racing Tips - Sunshine Coast Racecourse 13/10/23

Metro racing continues at the Sunshine Coast this Friday and we have an exciting eight race card, with a mixture between some decent Benchmark races, a couple maidens and a combination of sprints and staying races that should make for an awesome day of racing at the track. The track is rated a good 4 and the rail is in true position so follow me below for the best free tips for Sunshine Coast racing this Friday!

BEST BET - #14 - Javaja (BEST BET)
I don’t see any reason to jump off of Stephanie Kendrick’s Javaja if he can overcome second up syndrome and I am keen to see how he fairs here. He debuted at this track a few weeks ago where the market had him to go well as an odds on favourite and after setting fifth on the rail and being held up whilst improving he just kept finding the line to eventually run the leader down inside the last 100m in a very bold debut effort. He looks to be a progressive horse.

THE DANGER - #8 - Crazy Brave
Obvious danger with Neasham and Jimmy Orman combining on Crazy Brave who looks to make big improvements off the back of his first up run from a 15 week spell. That run came three weeks ago at this track over the 1200m three weeks ago in a big field where he raced just behind the speed from out  wide all run and managed to hold his fourth position right to the line. He should get a more economical run now and is fitter, will be prominent here I am confident.

VALUE BET  - #2 - Motion Legend
I am convinced that Motion Legend is a smart horse after his win three back and not having put in a bad effort for Jack Bruce since. He comes off the back of a run in a 1350m Ipswich race two weeks ago where he didn’t get the easiest of runs, being bumped around at the start of the race but I really like the way he finished things off there when powering home into fourth. Top chance again now at a good price.

BEST BET - #9 - Tojaki
Another short priced Stephanie Kendrick runner but I think that Tojaki is one of the better bets on the program here. He came over from Maher and Eustace to the stable about midway this year and resumed in a maiden race at this track a few weeks ago over the 1200m where he began well, crossed from two wide to be near the lead before taking over at the 200m, drawing away from the field and bolting in. He looks to have plenty to offer here only second up now, keen.

THE DANGER - #6 - Better Yet
I think that Better Yet will run to his name. The O’dea / Hoystead horse has had just the one run after having a very successful prep last time out. He came off of a 24 week spell at this track and trip a few weeks ago where he loomed through a big field and started a run but his condition just told late. That race has already had a subsequent winner emerge from it and he will be much fitter from it. Will be sure to make this a race.

VALUE BET  - #3 - Brave Maso
It would be foolish to ignore the chances of Brave Maso at a nice price for the McCall stable. He has had two runs back from a 16 week spell, both coming at this track over the 1200m and in both he has really wound up late to storm down the outside of the track (both were off wide runs) where he has motored into the placings. The way he is racing he looks well suited to the step out in trip, hard fit now, well weighted with the apprentice’s claim. Top chance.

BEST BET - #1 - Rustic Boom 
This should be a close run race between my three selections and Stephanie Kendrick’s Rustic Boom gets the nod here because of the booking of Jimmy Orman as I think he could prove the difference. Rustic Boom picked up a win here a couple starts back over the 1000m and has since put in two solid efforts in stronger company at this track. Hard fit, drops back a bit in depth and with Orman on he will get every chance.

THE DANGER - #9 - Kwik Az Hell 
Kwik Az Hell has been screaming out for a win and gets his chance here off the back of a bunch of close placings this prep. He has kicked off his career with three runner up placings before leading them out over this trip at this track last time where he wasn’t totally suited by that tactic and faded late into fourth. He will get a bunny to chase here and can feature now.

VALUE BET - #7 - It's Hells Bells (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) 
A very sneaky chance at a great price in It’s Hells Bells who steps out here in what has been quite a long prep thus far but looks well placed to pick up another win at great odds. He won three back at Kilcoy over this trip when belting a nothing field and since then has had two runs here, the last of which was promising when he was badly held up at a crucial stage but stuck to his task and kept finding the line when fourth and should have finished a lot closer if not won. I think the price we get is just due to how his record reads on paper and he is overs here.
