Friday Racing Tips - Tamworth Racecourse 23/06/23

Racing comes back to Tamworth Racecourse this Friday and we have a big eight race card with a mixture between maiden, benchmark and Class racing that should see us have a very exciting watch across all distance ranges and there also looks to be some very progressive horses that have been carefully put forward into these races. Follow me below as I pick out my most confident horse racing betting spots on the Friday Tamworth card!

BEST BET - #4 - Show Me Your Love (BEST BET)
Show Me Your Love should have lengths on these and rates the biggest margin of any race of the day relative to second. He raced second up off of a seventeen week spell at this track and trip where he set fifth and two wide in the run before starting a powerful burst on the straight to finish best under Kody Nestor. He now gets a big upgrade to Andrew Gibbons who will be sure to give him another good steer and I think $3.00 is more than good enough for me to have something on.

THE DANGER - #10 - Tyson's Dream
It doesn’t generally take much to get the Cody Morgan trained Tyson’s Dream going and he looks to have returned to racing very strongly from a long twenty five week spell when racing at this track last time out over the 1400m when drifting back from out wide in the run before starting a powerful run home in the straight where he looked the winner but just peaked 100m out from the post and ended up just behind the placegetters. Fitter and natural progressions second up now should carry him well.

VALUE BET  - #1 - I'm On Break 
I’m On Break has been awesome in three runs back from a spell this time in. He was very impressive first up at Gunnedah when missing the start a length and recovering well to just work and weave all through the run and eventually finish best to win a BM58 there before coming to this track and looking the winner a long way when hitting down the straight hard but just being nabbed late. He didn’t love the step up to 2100m last time out but still showed his heart when running well and now comes back to this distance range which is clearly his comfort ground and should go well here. Definitely over the odds.

BEST BET - #5 - Martedi (NEXT BEST) 
Martedi is the representative for the monstrous Paul Messara & Aaron Bullock combination that has been thrashing through regional tracks this season. This juvenile has had just the two career starts so far with a very game placing on debut at Muswellbrook where he put the writing on the wall and then duly saluted at is last outing at that track where he set two wide and thrashed them, being well clear with nearly 200m to go and being eased down late for a soft win. Looks set to make it two from two here, albeit getting a bit more of a contest now.

THE DANGER - #11 - Akauwheo 
Akauwheo looks very well placed for Kris Lees and has to be respected coming from the stable alone. He’s had three runs back from a spell this time in and the last two have been very game placings, first at Port Macquarie where raced a bit greenly but still showed fight and heart to motor home into the placings there. he then came to this track where he ran over the 1400m two weeks back and really looked the winner off a big last 200m run but just found one better in a smart horse there to place second. Should be hard fit now, still has a bit of upside and only needs to run to his last to win here.

VALUE BET  - #10 - Oakfield Redgum 
Oakfield Redgum should be at just about peak fitness now for Damien Lane and can take this out if she brings her best. She raced a bit greenly on debut, over racing throughout the majority of the run and did work well to get into a good spot to start a run but couldn’t come on there when the fitness told late. He then ran in a Newcastle Midway where he had a nice trial two wide with cover and again the condition just told late when he was one paced. Should be hard fit and have the strength to keep coming on late now.

BEST BET - #3 - Assiduity
Surely Assiduity just continues to go well here for Cameron Crockett off the back of one of the best country runs I have seen in recent times. He was having just his second run back from a spell and second run for the Crockett stable last time out at Armidale where he showed good speed to cross and lead and then slipped away at the corner from the field and was ridden out dominantly. I think he still has upside third up and am keen on his prospects here.

THE DANGER - #1 - Oakfield Prince 
I am obviously giving respect to Oakfield Prince who caught the eye for Kris Lees and was purchased recently by him, now having his first start for the trainer under Aaron Bullock’s steering and rates well off the back of a handful of lead in trials where he has been ridden quietly but looks to be travelling very nicely. He has a good fresh record with a win and placing in four first up runs and it’s hard to see him running badly here.
