The feature of the day is the Group 1 Stow Storage Memsie Stakes, a 1400m WFA race for a share of a whopping $750k. I have gone through the entire card and picked out my best betting spots on the card so follow me below for another high level Saturday of racing!

Caulfield R2 - Changing Places Real Estate (Bm78) (1400m)

Selections:
#2 - Chorlton Lane (BEST BET) - $4.20
#14 - Rheinberg - $3.00
#13 - Maktoob - $12.00
#12 - Rogue Rocker - $11.00

BEST BET - #2 - Chorlton Lane (BEST BET)
This will be the only not listed race I will be tipping in and the reason is I think that Chorlton Lane is simply too class of a horse to ignore here and likely makes it three wins in four runs this prep when he steps out tomorrow. His last win came just shy of a month ago when he was looking for a run in the straight and almost looked gone but when the split came at the 250m he raced up to hit the lead and weaved a path through to clock another impressive win. More than likely he takes this out and continues to step through the grades.

THE DANGER - #14 - Rheinberg
Hard to ignore the current betting favourite Rheinberg for the Hayes boys who is clearly the main danger in this race. He resumed off of a 21 week spell at Sale where he smashed a nothing field and then went off to the midweeks at Sandown three weeks between runs where he did it again but this time against solid competition. He maps well here, should be set to peak third up and if he wins this / runs well we could see him in Stakes competition soon.

VALUE BET  - #13 - Maktoob
Maktoob is a bomb fresh horse for Simon Zahra that resumes off of a 19 week spell in this field and although he has drawn out wide for this assignment I think he runs well here. He had his first Australian prep under Zahra back in Autumn this year where he clocked two smart wins first and second up before being outclassed at Flemington and going away for the spell that he comes off now. His splits read well for this, he’s 2/2 first up and I imagine he will look strong here.

Caulfield R5 -ive > McNeil Stakes (1200m)

Selections:
#12 - Legacies - $5.50
#1 - Little Brose - $6.00
#3 - Veight (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $8.00
#2 - Barber - $3.90

BEST BET - #12 - Legacies
I think Legacies could be a group 1 animal in the making for P Moody & K Coleman and am keen to see how he goes here in just his third career start. The debut run came over the 1200m at Cranbourne back in April where he went like an absolute jet and ran his own race to score dominantly and clock some serious splits before taking the step up to the Anzac Day stakes over the 1400m and arrogantly making a mess of them to get the job done again before going away for a spell. No public trials and back at the 1200m resuming with Ms Jamie Kah on all point to intent and I am keen.

THE DANGER - #1 - Little Brose
I am also a very big fan of the Hayes’ boys Little Brose who can maintain his undefeated second up record here tomorrow and comes off the back of a resumption run in the Vain Stakes at this track a few weeks ago where he jumped awkwardly and wasn’t able to settle as close as he wanted but still ran on well behind Cylinder then. He generally improves sharply with the run and is 2/2 second up, meets a beatable field and is a class horse who will give himself every chance.

VALUE BET  - #3 - Veight (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Veight resumes here for the McEvoy camp and looks wound up to win off the back of a run earlier this year in the ATC Sires on a bog down Randwick track where he didn’t handle the going behind Militarize. Prior to then he put together two belter wins to kick his career off and now has had a few months to improve and return even sharper. I imagine that bigger races are in mind for the stable but he can take this out on his way to those without too much trouble.

Caulfield R9 - Stow Storage Memsie Stakes (1400m)

Selections:
#3 - Alligator Blood (NEXT BEST) - $5.00
#1 - Mr Brightside - $3.20
#13 - Princess Grace - $8.00
#2 - I Wish I Win - $4.60

BEST BET - #3 - Alligator Blood (NEXT BEST)
If you have been following me since last Group 1 season you would know how I feel about Waterhouse / Bott’s front running Group 1 star Alligator Blood and I think that it is very clear there is some level of intent from the stable for him to resume here. He has trialled twice in Sydney and been ridden with a bit of intent in both to win and look very very strong throughout the trials. He maps to land out front and I can see him getting an element of control here and clocking an all the way win first up. He’s that good.

THE DANGER - #1 - Mr Brightside
Hard to ignore Mr Brightside the Hayes Boys who has won half of his career starts, is one of the best animals in the country and showed that he isn’t going anywhere when resuming since Autumn a fortnight ago where he dominantly took out the PB Lawrence over this track / trip under Craig Will. He draws a tricky barrier here but to be honest it’s likely going to take more than just that to stop him.

VALUE BET - #13 - Princess Grace
Princess Grace is a serious horse for Chris Waller that has won half of her starts and placed in the other half bar one from 17 career outings and really caught the eye when she resumed in the Winx Stakes (G1) off of an 18 week spell where she beat all but Fangirl in a very bold effort. She now draws to get a soft run out front, much softer than then, and all her USA form was on anticlockwise running tracks which she now steps onto here. She also the fitness edge on a lot of these who resume in this race. Blake Shinn on as well is positive and I think she is sure to run well here.

Jockey Of The Day – Brenton Avdulla

Avdulla has found great form this year with a near 50% place rate and near 20% strike rate. He has been super consistent in NSW and that has been recognised to a large extent by the bookings that he has been getting. He gets a top selection of rides for some prominent stables such as James Cummings and Chris Waller and I think he is a top shot to pick up at least one win on Saturday at Caulfield.

R5 - #12 - Kokoro - $7.00
R6 - #6 - Roots - $7.50
R8 - #5 - Zou Tiger - $9.50

Multi Tips For Caulfield

Whilst it is scary to tip in some of the bigger field races I think that with it being early in the season and a lot of runners being on resumption that there are some clear top picks in each field and as such I have combined my best runners of the day into a place multi. Whilst it might not be the same level of value we generally get I think that it is a worthwhile bet and has a good chance of coming in.

Best Promotions for Caulfield Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
