BEST BET - #3 - Alligator Blood (NEXT BEST)
If you have been following me since last Group 1 season you would know how I feel about Waterhouse / Bott’s front running Group 1 star Alligator Blood and I think that it is very clear there is some level of intent from the stable for him to resume here. He has trialled twice in Sydney and been ridden with a bit of intent in both to win and look very very strong throughout the trials. He maps to land out front and I can see him getting an element of control here and clocking an all the way win first up. He’s that good.
THE DANGER - #1 - Mr Brightside
Hard to ignore Mr Brightside the Hayes Boys who has won half of his career starts, is one of the best animals in the country and showed that he isn’t going anywhere when resuming since Autumn a fortnight ago where he dominantly took out the PB Lawrence over this track / trip under Craig Will. He draws a tricky barrier here but to be honest it’s likely going to take more than just that to stop him.
VALUE BET - #13 - Princess Grace
Princess Grace is a serious horse for Chris Waller that has won half of her starts and placed in the other half bar one from 17 career outings and really caught the eye when she resumed in the Winx Stakes (G1) off of an 18 week spell where she beat all but Fangirl in a very bold effort. She now draws to get a soft run out front, much softer than then, and all her USA form was on anticlockwise running tracks which she now steps onto here. She also the fitness edge on a lot of these who resume in this race. Blake Shinn on as well is positive and I think she is sure to run well here.
