Saturday Racing Tips - Doomben Racecourse 11/11/23

Racing comes back to Doomben for what has shaped up to be a great ten race card that features some of the more prominent Queensland and NSW stables’ runners who look to be on their ways towards nice preps during the Spring and whilst there is one listed race to be run at the course this Saturday in the Keith Noud Quality Stakes and there does look to be some very nice betting spots on the card. I am keen to get straight into things and have outlined my best betting spots on the card below.

BEST BET - #7 - Addriel (BEST BET)
Addriel has returned in very good shape for Annabel Neasham and I think can roll the short priced favourite here. He’s had two runs back when resuming behind Show Me Mercy in an honest effort and then finishing just behind the flying Abounding two weeks ago at this track. Hard fit third up, good record here and should be prominent.

THE DANGER - #4 - Victory Win
Victory Win is a deserving favourite but I think he’s just too short for me with some other honest chances in this race. He won when resuming at the Sunshine Coast where he showed a powerful turn of foot to win very well there and run a solid time in the process. He gets in light again and has more improvement still to come so am keen to see how he goes.

VALUE BET  - #5 - Golden Decade
Golden Decade should be flying home here. He comes out of the same race as Addriel where he was running on very strongly late and also has to be given some level of respect here. I think he does need to jump out a bit better this time round / be given a better steer but he will be strong late again either way.

BEST BET - #8 - Amore Veloce (NEXT BEST)
Amore Veloce has been crying out for a win and I think gets her chance here after running this track and trip a fortnight back where she didn’t get the most positive of runs from just behind the speed but started a big run on the turn and just found one better in The Face who I was on that day and was his day to win. I think that her competition here is not up to The Face and she will be honest as ever again.

THE DANGER - #3 - Caesaris
Caesires should be strong here for Tony Gollan after running a fortnight back over the 100m where she sat on the speed and looked like she was gone on the turn but just kept finding the line and putting her head down to win and win well. Her run style doesn’t have me totally convinced that she is a 1200m horse but we will find out.

VALUE BET  - #12 - Goomeri 
Goomeri should be improving here for Matty Dunn and is a sharp horse that has plenty of upside. He resumed off of an 18 week spell at Eagle Farm where he was trucking along the speed throughout the run and put in a good run down the straight but the first up condition told late when he just faded into second place late. He will be sharper and fitter for that run and with Thompson on, it looks a good set up.

BEST BET - #4 - Comrade Rosa (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Comrade Rosa is a ripping fresh horse who has taken out far more competitive races than this and I think is an honest chance here who comes up at a big price. Last prep he took out the Dane Ripper stakes before finishing down the track in the Tatts where he produced an end of prep effort. Runs best with fresh legs, has trialled nicely for the return and I think in terms of class he has plenty.

THE DANGER - #10 - Zarastro
Zarastro has shaped up to be a ripping horse seemingly out of thin air. He has won his past three starts, each of which coming at the 1200m at Eagle Farm with the latest being a couple weeks back where he lead throughout the run and didn’t even give anything a chance to get into the race to win very well there. Just a matter of how much petrol is left in the tank here and if he can bring the ability to Doomben.

VALUE BET - #11 - Cifrado
Cifrado is a smart horse for the Lipp stable who I think comes into this at overs. He resumed just shy of a month ago at Eagle Farm where he was posted wide throughout the run but just kept finding the line very well behind Osamu in a bold effort given the run there. He now goes out in trip, fitter and maps for a much softer run.
