Saturday Racing Tips - Eagle Farm Racecourse 14/10/23

Racing returns to Eagle Farm for a great support card for the Group 1 races that we see taking place in NSW and VIC and I am keen for this card where I think there are some very solid betting spots. I have run through all the racing and picked three races that I think have some particularly smart horses going around so follow me below as I outline the days racing at Eagle Farm!

#1 - Party For Two (BEST BET)  - $2.50

BEST BET - #1 - Party For Two (BEST BET)
All signs are pointing towards Party for Two having a big showing here for the O’Dea / Hoystead camp upon resuming to racing. She didn’t do much during the Brisbane Winter Carnival and they didn’t want her to race unnecessarily so that prep was cut short and she now looks to have relished the stable work with a very sharp trial win last week so I think at her best, which she looks close to, she should belt these.

THE DANGER - #2 - Flag Hall
Always have to give respect to the unbeaten horse and Flag Hall is two from two this time in after resuming at this track and trip with a solid win before going out to the 1200m where he sat on the speed and looked to be gone but fought back impressively to win well. I do think he’s better suited coming back to the 1000m and will be hard fit third up, will make this a race.

VALUE BET  - #5 - Szabo
Azabo is a smart horse for the Andrew stable that, based off of his trial win last week, I think is rearing to go. He hasn’t seen the races since mid September when racing at this track / trip and doing things tough outside the leader to eventually succumb to the run and fade late but if he is at his best we all know what he’s capable of and can surprise here at a decent price.

BEST BET - #3 - Boomroux (NEXT BEST)
Boomroux is one of Chris Munce’s debutantes and one that I don’t want to be late to the party with as he has been absolutely flying with his juveniles this season. They have been producing something similar to what we saw Cummings do last season with his juveniles and this one has had just the one trial to lead him into racing where he beat his stablemate Kahlisee who then went out and won on debut last Saturday. I think he takes this out and looks good doing so. 

THE DANGER - #1 - Mishani Rock
Mishani Rock is the only horse in this field with a win after impressively scoring from off the speed in the Pat O’Shea just shy of a month ago at Toowoomba. I really liked the way he got going on the turn there to continue powering home through the line and I think that with the way Eagle Farm races that should hold him in very good stead here. Go close.

VALUE BET  - #9 - Mishani Suspect 
Another Les Ross runner here and the way Les Ross gets his horses riled up for their first starts is always something to be respected. Mishani Suspect has had two trials to ready her for start one and gets in super light at 54kg for this off the back of a sharp trial win at Daegon before putting in another good effort where she looked to move along very nicely at Beaudesert. She can make her way into the placings here.

BEST BET - #6 - Steady Ready 
Smart horse when he puts it all together is Steady Ready. He gave too much early burn at Toowoomba three weeks ago when he just dropped off entirely in the straight towards the very end of the run but when he puts things together and gets an element of control, which he could here, he is a very sharp horse and maps to get the right sort of run for that. Fitter as well now.

THE DANGER - #2 - Devastating
Devastating is a smart horse for Tony Gollan who comes off that same race day at Toowoomba three weeks ago where he looked to be gone after giving an early burn but found plenty in the straight and powered home hard late to place second to Compassionate in a smart effort. Gollan will have him rearing to go again and he rarely puts in a bad effort.

VALUE BET - #5 - Pacific Vampire (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) 
Pacific Vampire makes his debut for Adam Campton after coming over from NSW when he was with Mark Newnham and I think that given he was racing in the city in Sydney, that form will hold him in great stead here and I am keen to have a throw at him at odds in what looks like a beatable field. He’s had a very sharp trial to ready him for this race and historically has gone well with fresh legs. If he can get into a decent spot he will be prominent here I am confident.
