Saturday Racing Tips - Eagle Farm Racecourse 24/06/23

Tatts Tiara day has finally arrived at Eagle Farm and we have an unreal installment of the black type day at Eagle Farm for 2023 to conclude the Group One season in Australia. There are nine races on the card and amongst them are three Stakes races, Two Group Three’s and the Group One feature of the day, the Sky Racing Tattersall's Tiara for a share of $700k over the 1400m. It’s going to be a great day of racing and I have already picked out some nice looking betting spots so follow me below as I outline the whole Eagle Farm racecard!

BEST BET - #6 - Right To Party  - (BEST BET)

Right To Party looks like a good spot at the price for us to build an early bit of bankroll for the Freedman’s. She shed the maiden tab easily at Doomben in his last outing when racing over the 1200m and sitting on the speed and when Maloney asked for a bit more she changed through the gears nicely to easily win there. Goes out to 1400m now with more upside and I am very keen to watch her go around.

THE DANGER - #1 - Cap Ferrat
Cap Ferrat looks like a good thing going for Chris Waller this time in. He raced in The Phoenix at this track three weeks ago and he did enough there being only second up from a spell and having to work quite a lot against the shape of the race. He came from the back well there before being eased out of the race when his condition told late. He should be very strong now, third up and out to 1400m. Go close.

VALUE BET  - #4 - Zoukerette 
Zoukerrete has been very good for the Maher and Eustace camp in his five career starts and has recently hit strong form. He clocked his maiden win two runs back at Canterbury when sitting on the leaders heels and taking over on the straight for a tough on pace win there before racing last time out in the Oxlade Stakes where he was very honest in defeat behind Namesake, finishing just outside of the placegetters there. Small field now, not nearly as much depth and he will be better for that last time out effort at the track.

BEST BET - #5 - Isis Carmella - (NEXT BEST)
This is quite an open race but I do think there are a couple key chances and am keen to have a play around at the odds of some of these but I really do feel as though Isis Carmella has the best chance to take this out. Since racing in The Fitzroy at Rockhampton she hasn’t set a foot wrong in three runs, running very close placings in her subsequent outings before a dominant win over this distance at Bowen last time out where she sat on the speed and still had plenty for them late. She is clearly a 1200m specialist and gets in well at the weights.

THE DANGER - #17e - Coat Of Arms 
Coat Of arms comes into this with regional formlines but they have been exceptional. He’s won or come runner up in all four of his last runs at Non-Tab tracks and the latest of which was a very close second placing in the BOTB Open. He has a lot more early speed than anything around him and I see him sliding onto the speed and being tough to beat here in one of the more interesting races on the card.

VALUE BET  - #13 - Grand Palazzo (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Grand Palazzo has only been running well since coming to the Schofield camp, having won four races in a row. They have obviously been in quite soft competition, but bar one of the wins all of them have been very dominant and she has been running some good times. Her most recent win at Barcaldine was over this distance where she clocked very good splits and overall time for the same distance we see today. She draws low in a big field which will give her every chance and I think she will run a big race.

BEST BET - #16 - Opal Ridge (NEXT BEST)  
Opal Ridge just wins this surely. I haven’t always been high on this Luke Pepper three year old but she is undeniable at this point. She was wide with no cover in the Dane Ripper when racing a fortnight back and if not for the luckless run she would have won there I am confident. Before then she Won the Luskin Star in fine fashion and I think she puts these away and we’ll say bye until The Everest.

THE DANGER - #15 - Ruthless Dame
Ruthless Dame can definitely take this out and is a key threat for the Maher and Eustace stable who look set to have a huge day tomorrow at Eagle Farm. He comes into this off the back of an impressive fifth place to Think About It in the Stradbroke and meets a few from that field better at the weights now. he’s drawn off the track but her form at this distance is the best of the field. She is the only Group One winner in the field. Tough to beat if Allen pinches a spot from the draw, maybe tough to beat anyway…

VALUE BET - #5 - Chain Of Lightning
This Peter Moody trained mare’s form goes through the aforementioned Ruthless Dame. She ran two starts back in the Robert Sangster behind Ruthless Dame in a very meritful effort there and then went to the Stradbroke where she had a luckless wide run and still found the line well. She may have just peaked then and gives a couple kilos to Ruthless Dame but she will be prominent all run.
