Saturday Racing Tips - Flemington Racecourse 11/11/23

It’s Champion Stakes day and we have a massive card set for racing at Flemington with three group 1 races on the card and a bunch of other listed support races on the card and I am very excited for this day as the Group 1 races season approaches it’s peak. I have run through the card and picked out my best bets tips for all of the three group 1 races so follow me below as I run through a massive card at Flemington!

BEST BET - #7 - In Secret (BEST BET)
I think that this race is the star Kiwi Imperatriz’s to lose and I am backing the Godolphin stable’s In Secret to roll her. She was a bit too deep in the run in The Everest but wow the way that she found the line in defeat was extremely impressive and arguably could have taken the race out from a slightly better spot. She comes here hard fit and ready to win and I am keen to see how she goes here and have something on.

THE DANGER - #8 - Imperatriz
It’s hard to knock Imperatriz who just hasn’t put a foot wrong pretty much all career and did absolutely bolt in last start in the Manikato where she didn’t beat much relative to what she lines up against here but the way she did so was ever impressive. She’s untried down the straight but is still clearly the one to beat here.

VALUE BET  - #6 - Bella Nipotina
Bella Nipotina has been turned around quickly for this assignment and might just be able to keep the momentum going and take this out. The Maher and Eustace product was three weeks between runs when stepping out last weekend in the Giga Kick Stakes and running an absolute belter race to win very impressively. She keeps the same weight here and Craig Will sticks in the saddle. Keen.

BEST BET - #6 - Fangirl (NEXT BEST)
Fangirl looks very well placed coming back to Flemington here and I think she is the one to beat. She got held up badly in the Cox Plate when she was just getting warm and then revved up again late to just finish on the winner's heels. She is a monster at the mile and gets the conditions to suit, I think she only runs well here.

THE DANGER - #1 - Mr Brightside
Mr Brightside is a ripper horse who is the best Mile horse in the country and still managed to put in a great effort in the Cox Plate where he just went down in a photo finish to Romantic Warrior in an amazing finish. He will definitely run well here and I think he will be off to Hong Kong after this.

VALUE BET  - #7 - Pride Of Jenni
Pride Of Jenni ran very well last Saturday in the Empire Rose where she found herself out front and she just managed to hold on to claim that race. This time round there are going to be stronger horses chasing her into the straight and I am not sure she wins this but she has to be given some sort of chance here.

BEST BET - #11 - Prowess  
We had Prowess in our horse racing tips when she last stepped out in the Crystal Mile for her first run in Australia this campaign and it was an enormous run there. She will have plenty of scope for improvement off the back of that run and I think getting out to the big track now and out to 2000m with Mark Zahra retaining the ride, she’s going to step up.

THE DANGER - #4 - West Wind Blows
West Wind Blows rates very highly here and has barely put a foot wrong since coming down under. He ran very well in The Turnbull without winning before stepping out in the Caulfield Cup where he was ridden to perfection and looked the winner before being run down by now Melbourne Cup winning Without a Fight who got a more than perfect steer. He does look to have been set up ideally now for his Aussie shores win.

VALUE BET - #9 - Duais (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
It is starting to cost me but I do always have time for Ed Cummings’ Duais. This horse was outstanding when winning the Australian Cup over this track / trip last year and she has been running well again this time in. She got unlucky last time out in the Cox Plate with not the easiest of runs in the straight to finish fourth behind Romantic Warrior and she should be thundering home again here.

One of the most significant considerations in picking up multiple winners is the track bias, which favors horses that don’t get too far back in the run at Flemington Racecourse. As a result, horses drawn on the inside have a better chance of performing well compared to those drawn towards the outside.
