#7 - Autumn Angel - $2.25
#4 - Dual Pressure (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $9.00
#5 - Warlords - $9.00
BEST BET - #1 - Apulia
Apulia looks like a good thing going for the Hayes boys and has resumed very well since coming back as a three year old. He returned to racing in a Cranbourne maiden a few weeks ago where he boxed along the speed and when asked for the effort he drew lengths clear late for a dominant win. He maps to find the front again easily here and should make this a race with the favourite.
THE DANGER - #7 - Autumn Angel
Autumn Angle is a deserving favourite in this race and does look like a super solid horse for Peter Moody and Kelly Coleman who rarely puts in a bad effort and returned to racing very well when resuming in a midweek Sandown race and got well back in the field there and you would have thought she was gone but she was actually never in doubt when powering home on the turn to clear the field and win sharply. She shapes up very well off the back of that run and now looks set for further improvement. Tough to beat I just don’t think the price is there for me.
VALUE BET - #4 - Dual Pressure (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Dual Pressure has only had the four career starts for Mick Ellerton but seems to be a super progressive horse and a win here wouldn’t shock. He shed the maiden tag two back on the Pakenham Synthetic in fine style before making his Valley debut last time out where he was against the raceshape and improved to on the pace but had no luck at all and was held up on the leader / winners back at a crucial stage, only able to hold third placing. He will be fitter, better for the debut run here and with any clear air I would not be shocked to see him in the finish.
