Moonee Valley R1 - Inglis Ready2Race Sale 10 Oct (1500m)

Selections:
#1 - Apulia - $4.60
#7 - Autumn Angel - $2.25
#4 - Dual Pressure (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $9.00
#5 - Warlords - $9.00

BEST BET - #1 - Apulia
Apulia looks like a good thing going for the Hayes boys and has resumed very well since coming back as a three year old. He returned to racing in a Cranbourne maiden a few weeks ago where he boxed along the speed and when asked for the effort he drew lengths clear late for a dominant win. He maps to find the front again easily here and should make this a race with the favourite.

THE DANGER - #7 - Autumn Angel
Autumn Angle is a deserving favourite in this race and does look like a super solid horse for Peter Moody and Kelly Coleman who rarely puts in a bad effort and returned to racing very well when resuming in a midweek Sandown race and got well back in the field there and you would have thought she was gone but she was actually never in doubt when powering home on the turn to clear the field and win sharply. She shapes up very well off the back of that run and now looks set for further improvement. Tough to beat I just don’t think the price is there for me.

VALUE BET  - #4 - Dual Pressure (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)

Dual Pressure has only had the four career starts for Mick Ellerton but seems to be a super progressive horse and a win here wouldn’t shock. He shed the maiden tag two back on the Pakenham Synthetic in fine style before making his Valley debut last time out where he was against the raceshape and improved to on the pace but had no luck at all and was held up on the leader / winners back at a crucial stage, only able to hold third placing. He will be fitter, better for the debut run here and with any clear air I would not be shocked to see him in the finish.

Moonee Valley R5 - McMahon's Dairy McKenzie Stakes (1200m)

Selections:
#4 - Steparty (BEST BET) - $2.90
#3 - Brave Mead - $3.10
#1 - Amur - $9.00
#6 - Introducing - $7.00

BEST BET - #4 - Steparty (BEST BET)
I think that Steparty is an absolute jet for the Preusker stable that has made a statement in his three career outings so far and likely makes it four on the bounce here. His splits in all of those runs on average make him look like a standout in this field, clocking an average last 600m of 35.13 across all his runs and I think he could easily stamp himself as a Group 1 star this season. His Stawell trial in the Heavy showed his class is not limited by the track conditions and I think he likely belts these.

THE DANGER - #3 - Brave Mead
Brave Mead is an honest customer for the Maher and Eustace team that looked to be heading toward group One races last campaign but after failing to strike in the Sires Stakes on not the best grounding he was sent away for yard work and now resumes. His first couple trials he wasn’t moving too nicely and has since been brought to Melbourne where he has been jumping out like a jet and looks more than ready to fire here. Dangerous if he brings his best first up.

VALUE BET  - #1 - Amur
If you have been following me for some time you would know how much of a fan I am of Amur. This horse has a particular liking for this track and resumed two weeks ago where he looked like he needed the run over this track / trip and whilst he was a bit one paced he did click up towards the end to be strong through the line. He does meet some real class here but a win wouldn’t totally shock.

Moonee Valley R9 - Clamms Seafood Feehan Stakes (1600m)

Selections:
#1 - Tuvalu (NEXT BEST) - $5.10
#11 - Globe - $3.60
#13 - Attrition - $8.00
#7 - Pinstriped - $9.50

BEST BET - #1 - Tuvalu (NEXT BEST)
Tuvalu is one of my favourite horses and I am annoyed to see him draw a bad barrier here but I think that with some luck in running he can overcome it. He’s an absolute bomb second up with 2 wins and 3 seconds in six second up runs and looks to have returned in great order after having a couple small problems at the barrier last time out when resuming in the 1400m Lawrence Stakes he did it tough out wide all run and just kept finding the line to clock great splits and finish just behind the placegetters. With any luck early he finds a good spot under Shinn and they will be strong from there.

THE DANGER - #11 - Globe
Globe looks like the Price / Kent stables next future star and does strike an honest test here but he likely proves he is up to the task. He really came to during his Autumn / early Winter prep when belting a few fields at Sandown before being sent back to the paddock for some more work and I think that will be the key to leaning his way. See how he looks in the yard and what the market strength is and make a pick.

VALUE BET - #13 - Attrition
Attrition is a dangerous horse for Mitch Freedman at his best and and now has resumed as a four year old three weeks ago in the same PB Lawrence as Tuvalu where he also got caught wide with no cover for the trip and he just kept finding the line when not a winning chance. That run would have taken a fair bit out of him but the stable wouldn’t be spending the big bucks for a gate here if there wasn’t intent so go close.

Best Promotions for Moonee Valley Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
