Saturday Racing Tips - Randwick Racecourse 16/12/23

One of the last big race days at Randwick of the year takes place this Saturday with a $1.5 million card at the course and the Cactus Imaging Hcp being the feature of the day, an Open race over the 1600m with $160k up for grabs. I have gone through the card and picked out my three best betting spots! Follow me below.

BEST BET - #3 - Bowery Breeze (NEXT BEST)
Bowery Breeze is going so well for the Cave camp that she is getting me to tip in a midway. She ran very well on Gong Day when finding a run on the inside and getting the money sharply last time out. She’ll also be ready for the trip now that she is third up.

THE DANGER - #4 - Tympanist
Tympanist if he’s going well will be winning this, it’s just a question of how well that is as he isn’t the most consistent of horses but he did run very well last time out when clocking very sharp win at this course when getting an A1 steer. Better than this at his best.

VALUE BET  - #2 - Vegas Outlaw 
Vegas Outlaw is chasing four in a row here and has been running so well this time in. He needed the run first up before winning at Kembla Grange in the mud second up and has clocked in another two subsequent  back to back placings since. He should be very sharp here and can make it four in a row.

Toesonthenose rates highly here for John Sargent, we had him in our horse racing tips last time out and I think just has to be backed again here. His win last week at Rosehill was very impressive given he had been turned around so quickly. If there’s gas in the tank still he wins.

THE DANGER - #10 - Kapakiri 
Kapakiri appears to have hit form for Chris Waller and won’t be slowing down now. He won two back over the 1800m when dominating them in the straight before stepping out at the Sunshine Coast last time out over that same trip when winning sharply again. Can make it three in a row here.

VALUE BET  - #9 - Phillipsburg
Phillipsburg is an awesome horse for the Ponsonby stable who I seem to catch every now and then and this looks like one of those times after the way he won the Midway at Rosehill two weeks back in sharp time and style. He should be able to find the front again at some point in the run and he’s up to this level for sure.

BEST BET - #13 - Lekvarte 
Lekvarte is singing for Joe Pride and I am keen to be in her corner again here. She’s won both of her two starts this campaign for Joe Pride and comes off a win at Rosehill where she took on top weight and still proved far too strong for them. That was a very impressive display and still is above the level she steps out at now I think, she surely runs well here.

THE DANGER - #6 - King Of The Castle
King of the Castle is another that has recently stepped out for Joe Pride in a big way of late and can win again here. He won impressively two back at Kembla Grange in a strong BM88 before last stepping out in a big way over the 2000m in an Open race at Randwick and running on very well behind the smart winner in Baby Rider there. Can hit back hard here.  

VALUE BET - #15 - Naval College (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Naval College is a horse that can resume in a big way for Annabel Neasham. He hasn’t raced since the beginning of July when stepping out over the 2400m at Rosehill and finishing just behind Fawkner Park who is a class animal. He’s had a bunch of sharp trials to ready him for his return now and comes in super light here.

Making a multi at Randwick is going to be pretty tricky on such a serious race day but I think that if we focus on those that are well weighted, those that are locally trained and those that are hard fit, primed for these races then we have a good chance of taking out this multi.
