Saturday Racing Tips - Rosehill Racecourse 27/04/24

It’s been nearly a month since we have had racing at Rosehill and we now come back to the course and I am very happy to be back. Tomorrow’s card sees some very strong Benchmark grade races with the Vale Lonhro (Bm100) being the feature of the day in race eight. I have thoroughly run through the card and picked out my best betting spots and outlined them below so follow me for a very exciting day of racing at Rosehill!

BEST BET - #7 - Green Shadows (NEXT BEST)
This race first struck my interest when I saw that Rhythm of Love was stepping out here but on further inspection I think that Green Shadows looks like a very good betting spot for the Ryan and Alexiou camp. He won fresh over the 1400m when beating a nothing field but the way he did so was very nice to watch and he seemed to still have plenty in the tank there. He’ll have a stack of improvement coming into this and should prove hard to beat.

THE DANGER - #4 - Rhythm Of Love 
Rhythm Of Love is a sharp horse for John O’Shea that ran in the South Pacific at Randwick not too long ago where he sat on the speed and looked like he was about to let down in the straight before fading out of seemingly nowhere. Vet said he was all good post race and he still placed third to Panic there so that clearly reads well enough for this.

VALUE BET  - #9 - Unusual Legacy
Unusual Legacy hasn’t done any wrong in four starts for Waller to kick the career off and comes here off of an 11 week let up having won two on the bounce at Newcastle and Canterbury in good style and he looks ready for the step up in competition here. He’s had a trial at Canterbury the other week when not asked for anything and really just stretching his legs but he looks a strong horse and I think he shows up for this.

BEST BET - #1 - Let’s Try (BEST BET)
Let’s Try gets nailed at the weights here but so do a lot of the others and I think he’s easily the best horse in this race and will only be improved coming to this course after returning over the 1200m at Newcastle where he did lots of nice work early before finding plenty from out front in the straight to win very well. I think he is more than up to this level of competition and will prove strong here.

THE DANGER - #7 - Cigar Flick
Cigar Flick deserves another chance here for Chris Waller after running behind the gates where she lost a plate, replated and then was all over the place mentally when finishing far back in the field in the PJ Bell. She comes back in depth, has been given a break and is one of the smartest horses here.

VALUE BET  - #11 - Keep Your Cool 
Keep Your Cool is one I can entertain at longer odds here for Ciaron Maher having won two of his five career starts and placed runner up in a further two. His two wins have come in his past two runs since coming back from a break with the most recent being a fortnight ago at Gosford where he got a split very late in the piece and jetted away. Third up, more improvement to come and undefeated thus far this time in. Go well here.

BEST BET - #15 - Kazou (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY 
Pretty hard to get away from Kazou as the straight bat option here for Chris Waller resuming here off of a two run Spring prep where she won fresh at Cranbourne before stepping out to the 1400m and not seeing it out behind Revolutionary Miss. She’s great with fresh legs with two wins and a placing in four first up runs and her recent trial effort suggests she will be sharp resuming here.

THE DANGER - #4 - Renosu 
Renosu never fails to run well and I think he will only be improved here after stepping out five weeks between runs over the 1000m at Warwick Farm and was posted wide the run, shifting wider in the straight but proving far too good for them when running home beautifully to win well. He shapes up fitter and sharper for that effort and maps to get a better run in transit, genuine danger here.

VALUE BET - #7 - Wategos
Wategos goes best with fresh legs and Bjorn Baker looks to have him rearing to go off of a long spell since stepping out in The Big Dance where he was far from disgraced despite not being a winning chance behind Attractable. His trial work has been beautiful for this and I think he goes well at odds here.

Avdulla has found great form this year with a near 50% place rate and near 20% strike rate. He has been super consistent in NSW and that has been recognised to a large extent by the bookings that he has been getting. He gets a top selection of rides for some prominent stables such as James Cummings and Chris Waller and I think he is a top shot to pick up at least one win on Rosehill at Rosehill.

Whilst it is scary to tip in some of the bigger field races I think that with it being early in the season and a lot of runners being on resumption that there are some clear top picks in each field and as such I have combined my best runners of the day into a place multi. Whilst it might not be the same level of value we generally get I think that it is a worthwhile bet and has a good chance of coming in
