Saturday Racing Tips - Sunshine Coast Racecourse 18/11/23

Metro racing continues at the Sunshine Coast this Saturday and we have an exciting ten race card, with a mixture between some decent Benchmark races, a couple open races and a combination of sprints and staying races that should make for an awesome day of racing at the track. The track is rated a good 4 and the rail is in true position so follow me below for the best free tips for Sunshine Coast racing this Saturday!

BEST BET - #5 - Rising Pacific (NEXT BEST)
Straight bat option early in the card for Tony Gollan in Rising Pacific who is going too well to ignore and yes he hasn’t faced this level of competition but I think he’s going to rise to the test here. He was dominant at Doomben when last racing three weeks back and I think he doesn’t have to improve much off the back of that to be winning this.

THE DANGER - #15 - Poetic Drama
Poetic Drama shapes up well here and comes out of the same races as Rising Pacific. He then stepped out at Eagle Farm a week later when being buried deep in the run and I thought she was going to come on strongly late but just didn’t measure up in the end, I suspect not handling the back up. Given a little break now, gets in light and maps for the A1 run.

VALUE BET  - #7 - Boodua Romance
Boodua Romance is going oh so well for the Gough stable and has to be a winning chance here. He last stepped out two weeks back at Eagle Farm over the 1400m where he led them out and looked to be gone but just found more and gave a kick to win very well. The step up to 1600m looks positive now with upside going into this and I think he will be strong here.

BEST BET - #5 -  Lost In Transit
Lost In Transit is locally trained and should be prominent here for the Kendrick stable who goes very well at their home course. He’s been up for some time but doesn’t seem to be slowing down after last time out at Eagle Farm two weeks back where he ran a close third placing to Nashira in a tough but strong effort. He races well here and will get every chance from on the speed again here.

THE DANGER - #13 - Sha Of Gomer
Sha Of Gomer is a last start winner who still has more upside to come and I think will run well here. He took a seven week break before last stepping out at Eagle Farm where he was very impressive, absolutely belting the field to the line and running a good time in the process. Should be prominent here.

VALUE BET  - #11 - Our Magnus (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Our Magnus is holding his form very well after last stepping out at Doomben a few weeks back where he looked the winner but ended up running a narrow third placing to Preach there when he was beaten around a length. He looks well placed here and has been crying out for a win.

BEST BET - #4 - Knight’s Choice (BEST BET)
I love Knight’s Choice and he finally gets a set up for him to win. He was looking towards the Golden Eagle and raced in it eventually two weeks ago but he was set up so poorly for it and still ran well in defeat when having to be very deep for the majority of the run. He comes back to his home track now, maps to do no work here and if he brings his best he surely wins this. Happy to make him my best bet of the day.

THE DANGER - #1 - Great House
There was a time when I thought Great house was destined to be one of the better horses in the country. He hasn’t exactly lived up to that but he has been very good in his two runs back from a spell this time in. He last stepped out a fortnight ago at Eagle Farm where he came from off a hot speed to run a very close second placing to Shibli who is flying. He still has more upside off of that effort and rates highly here.

VALUE BET - #3 - Dune Forty Five
Always respecting Rob Heathcoate’s horses at Eagle Farm. This one in particular resumed two weeks back where he sat off the speed and took awhile to get into the race but then was powering home behind Ekaterina to finish second there. He rates very highly going out to the 1600m now and has plenty of upside to come. Don’t count him out.
