Wednesday Racing Tips - Bendigo Racecourse 01/11/23

Racing returns to Bendigo for a massive nine race metro midweek meeting as Bendigo Cup day has arrived and there are some nice types going around for the big Victorian stables with a handful on debut and the rest coming back to the races mid way through their preps, some of whom look well placed to go onto metro racing. It’s going to be a great day in horse racing betting with the feature of the day being the Apiam Animal Health Bendigo Cup, a listed race for a share of $500k prize money. Follow me below as I outline my best betting spots on the card!

Bendigo R1 - BRB Electrical Mdn Plate (1400m)

Selections:
#11 - Alectrona (BEST BET) - $2.50
#10 - Victory Command - $5.00
#9 - Exposition - $4.60
#2 - Ignacio - $5.50

BEST BET - #11 - Alectrona (BEST BET)
Alectrona steps out here third up and ready to win again for the McEvoy’s after putting in two great efforts this campaign. Both the runs have come over the 1200m and the last saw her run home very well from not the easiest of runs into second place to an impressive winner in Bizot. I think that getting out to 1400m now looks very positive and I am keen to have something on.

THE DANGER - #10 - Victory Command
Victory Command is a smart looking horse for the Moody stable that resumed over the 1200m at Cranbourne where he was forced to do things tough from a wide gate and wasn’t a winning threat but the way he closed off the race was more than eye-catching, running a very good fourth placing there. He now draws an inside gate, comes into this fitter and ready to step out to the 1400m. Go close.

VALUE BET  - #6 - Exposition
Exposition should be improving sharply second up and comes into this after having resumed off of a 17 week spell at Ipswich where he began well and trucked along the speed before his condition just gave way late over the 1350m there when he just couldn’t go on with the winner and faded into fifth down the track. He generally improves sharply second up and I think that he will be kicking on strongly this time and maps to get every chance.

Bendigo R4 - 38th Battalion (Bm70) (1600m)

Selections:
#3 - Big Brew (NEXT BEST) - $5.50
#2 - Angry Skies - $3.30
#4 - All So Clear - $7.00
#7 - Lady Adelaide - $4.20

BEST BET - #3 - Big Brew (NEXT BEST)
Big Bew I am tempted to say can roll the two close favourites in this race and looks well placed for the Hope camp here. He last ran at a strong midweek Caulfield meeting where he wasn’t in the best of spots but just kept finding the line with real purpose behind a smart winner in Belthil. He comes back to the mile now which I think is positive and I just think he’s putting the writing on the wall too much to ignore. Go close.

THE DANGER - #2 - Angry Skies
Angry skies comes back to Victorian racing here after he has had two runs in South Australia that saw him win first up before not showing too much last time out behind Thirsty Guest who just ran in the Gawler Cup last Friday. He doesn’t draw for the easiest of runs and his racing manners can sometimes be all over the place but when he does get it right he is a very smart animal and with a good steer it should take luck out the equation.

VALUE BET  - #4 - All So Clear
All So Clear doesn’t get his ideal grounding now but has been going too well to ignore for the Hayes boys and I don’t think can be counted out again here. His last two runs have been in the Heavy at Ballarat where he has jumped as favourite and lived up the task both times, clocking impressive splits to win well in both. He now comes into this hard fit, good gate and well weighted. Deserves a crack at these.

Bendigo R7 - Apiam Animal Health Bendigo Cup (2400m)

Selections:
#7 - Interpretation - $4.60
#8 - Suizuro - $6.00
#11 - Pesto (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $10.00
#1 - Luncies - $9.50

BEST BET - #7 - Interpretation
It is hard to go past Interpretation for Maher and Eustace who takes a sharp drop in competition for this assignment and the stable rarely gets things wrong with their stayers out to this distance. He has come very close in two out of four runs this prep, both at The Valley and now comes into this off of a freshen up, very light at the weights and with Mick Dee on board he will give him every chance.

THE DANGER - #8 - Suizuro
Suizoro has found winning form and he can continue to roll with it now. He last raced in the Moe Cup where the market loved him late in the piece and he proved them more than right when driving hard late to clock impressive closing splits and win in smart fashion. He should land in a good spot with some cover if they get everything right and be thundering home again here.

VALUE BET - #11 - Pesto (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Pesto has a good record out to this distance range in the past and comes off the back of an assertive win that definitely suggests he is going well enough to take this out now. He last stepped out at Caulfield a couple weeks back where was very powerful to the line, winning sharply then. This race isn’t overly tough, he’s flying and comes into this very well weighted. Worth a lot of thought.

Multi Tips For Bendigo

I think that we have to tread lightly with a multi on such a competitive day of racing with so many of these horses having been geared for the races on this card. As such, I have given favour to those horses who have drawn good gates, are well weighted and who have top jockeys on as these factors can be all the advantage you need for a win in the circumstances. Best Promotions for Bendigo Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
