Wednesday Racing Tips - Doomben Racecourse 25/01/23

Racing continues at Doomben off the back of a strong Saturday meeting last weekend and there looks to be some good types running that will make for some good racing. There is a total of $330,000 prize available on the card across nine races and the races range from the 1050 sprint to the lone staying race at 1650m. I have outlined some good betting spots so follow me for a fun day of racing.

BEST BET - #3 - Dark Harmony (NEXT BEST) - $3.50
Dark Harmony is screaming for a win, having placed second in all three of his last runs. At latest, went around as a $2.80 favourite in the market and raced wide throughout before hitting the front and just finding one better in the smart Mission Of Love. He gets Byrne on board which is a bonus and maps to sit back and run them home hard late, I think this is a very winnable race.

THE DANGER - #12 - White Ribbon - $4.20
White ribbon is second up today for Tony Gollan who is absolutely flying this year. White Ribbon made his debut at the races a fortnight ago at this track over the same distance and was checked at the start, as such he gave them a few lengths to begin with but he still ran a fast time and easily went past a few during the run before being eased towards the end of the race, wasn’t his day. He draws the rail this time round and I think with a bit of luck in running he takes this out. 

VALUE BET  - #1 - A Lot Of Booty - $4.80
A Lot Of Booty made her debut at the races nearly three weeks back at the Sunshine Coast over the 1000m when looking outstanding, winding up on the straight and nearly getting there but just missing to an honest horse in Sightseer. She looks like she is going to love going out to the 1200m and maps to sit on the speed.

BEST BET - #4 - Baldassare (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $9.00
I find it absolutely wild that with Baldassare made his way into the placings last time out at the races when first up over the 1200m at Sunshine Coast. He expressed poor racing manners and raced wide throughout that run, not being suited at all by having an apprentice jockey on and whilst he does look like he needs to learn a few things from that I think that Ben Thompson on and meeting a similar field, drawing well. He can definitely take this out.

THE DANGER - #3 - Nashira - $1.85
Nashira has been racing outstandingly without winning. At latest he raced over the 1000m at Eagle Farm Racecourse when tracking an all the way winner after being inconvenienced at the start of the race and made great ground there. He draws the rails here, will be fitter and better for the experience off that last run and the closing splits indicate he storms over this field.

VALUE BET  - #7 - Sightseer - $9.00
Sightseer dropped back from metro grade racing last time out when third up at Sunshine coast over the 1000m and absolutely belted them, finding the lead early and never letting go. He seems to have found the right grade now and although he looked a little tired at the end of his last run, I think he will continue to improve into this.

BEST BET - #7 - My Snow Queen (BEST BET)
My Snow Queen has been racing well since resuming at Gold Coast as an odds on fav and winning softly there before stepping up to the Sunshine Coast and sticking at the 1200m when just running in to some smart types, he did it a bit tough there up on the speed and out wide but I think that he finds another beatable field here and maps to sit on the speed, query is whether he drops off again or not at the end.

THE DANGER - #11 - Divine Courage 
I can’t knock the form with Divine Courage who has won two from two since resuming at the races. Both of these wins come at Murwillumbah over the 1200m where she has raced similarly in both, making her way a few wide on the turn and buckling down for soft wins. She steps up now and looks ready to complete the hat trick with Mallyon retaining the ride.

VALUE BET - #1 - Vainly 
Punters were expecting more from Vainly resuming off a really long spell when first up at sunshine coast 6 weeks ago. She wasn’t totally disgraced there though when slowly weaving between runners and looks to have benefited from that. She has trialled again since and won that trial, beating pancho there who has since picked up a smart first up win. I think she may have something on this field.
