Wednesday Racing Tips - Eagle Farm Racecourse 27/12/23

Racing comes back to Eagle Farm this Wednesday for a solid seven race meeting and there is just under 300k worth of prize money available on the card. As usual I have run through the entire meeting and picked out my best bets across the card so follow me below for another solid day of racing as we close out the year!

#2 - Central Park (BEST BET) - $2.40
#1 - Born Fearless - $2.80

BEST BET - #2 - Central Park (BEST BET)
Central Park looks like a well placed favourite for Stephanie Kendrick and I am keen to have something on him approaching hard fitness third up here and after going so close last time out. He didn’t record the greatest of overall times there but he was held up for a run for awhile and when getting clear air he clocked awesome closing splits. I think he looks very well placed here now to go one better.

THE DANGER - #1 - Born Fearless
Born Fearless is another very smart horse who should be approaching his peak third up here and I think will inevitably shape up to be a good horse for the Lipp stable. He stepped out for just his second career run last time out at this course when still doing a bit wrong in the run but managing to kick up late and jet home into second place.

VALUE BET  - #11 - O'polly
O’polly gets in here so light with a 3kg claimer engaged and she has gone so close in her past two outings, combined with the positive draw she gets here today so I just don’t think that there is any reason to knock her going into this. She has clocked back to back third placings in her last two runs and I think going into this now she will be strong with nothing on her back.

BEST BET - #7 - Ring Of Steel (NEXT BEST)
Ring Of Steel meets the profile well for what I am looking for in tomorrow’s runners at the course and I think rates highly here for Kelly Schweida. He steps out here third up off the back of a run at Ipswich where he was four weeks between runs and was still able to close things out very well to place runner up to a smart horse. He now draws a much better gate, gets Orman on and should be hard fit third up.

THE DANGER - #8 - Consenza
Consenza has got to be the main danger here for Tony Gollan. He joined the camp not too long ago but as we often see with Gollan’s runners he is already on the up. He stepped out for his first run for the stable a couple weeks ago at this track and ran home very well despite being posted wide to place third there. Natural improvement should carry him a long way here.

VALUE BET  - #13 - Alakai Swamp
Can’t knock a debutant winner like Alakai Swamp as we only have the one run to go by and I think that win had some merit to it. He debuted at the beginning of the month at the Gold Coast when hitting the front in the straight to fend all challengers off and sustain a solid run. More improvement to come so don’t knock him.

BEST BET - #2 - Goomeri
Goomeri does look like the straightforward option for Matty Dunn having already recorded two wins and put together two sharp placings in his six start career and he comes into this on the back of a very close second placing in a strong field at Ballina and now gets Orman aboard. All signs point towards a good showing I just think that he does meet some solid competition here.

THE DANGER - #1 - Tarps 
Tarps is a horse who should be ready to win third up and has run very well third up in the past. He has had two runs this time in back from a 26 week spell and has improved between them after running home well into midfield first up he stepped out here a couple weeks back where he was able to run home very strongly to finish fourth. I think he shapes up perfectly now third up.

VALUE BET - #3 - Ready Azz Eva (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Ready Azz Eva likes to mix his form a bit but I think that Rob Heathcoate has him going very very well now and he can go on with the last start win that he put together. He was four weeks between runs when he last stepped out at this course a few weeks back and wow the way he put them away was awesome when sitting outside the leader before storming over him late. Sneaky chance.
