Wednesday Racing Tips - Geelong Racecourse 27/10/23

Racing returns to Geelong this Wednesday for a solid card with nine races on the program and a total of just over $300k available on the card. I have run through what I think are my best betting spots of the program and thoroughly outlined them below so follow me as I outline the card for tomorrow’s racing at Geelong.

BEST BET - #3 - Regal Vow (BEST BET)
Damn Regal Vow has returned well to racing. He has only had seven starts for the Littlefield stable but has won two and placed in four of them and the way he came back to racing last time out at this course off of a 21 week break from racing was very sharp. He was keen early and raced accordingly before settling and then thundering away from them in the straight for a sharp win. Well placed to go on with it here.

THE DANGER - #6 - Spirit Beast
Spirit Beast is coming back from a Country level of racing and has not been putting in bad efforts for the Anthony and Sam Freedman camp. She resumed off of a 40 week spell at Sandown last time out when running so well for the long break, coming from a nothing spot at the rear of the field to close the race well, clock some good splits and I think with natural improvement and softer competition it looks a good set up now.

VALUE BET  - #2 - Bavarian Lady
Bavarian Lady is one of the highest raters here and now gets that offset by a very key claim from Jaylah Kennedy that will see her come in at 57kg for this and with that she can make an impact here. She resumed off of an 18 week spell last time in running at Sandown and recorded a very sharp third. Only needs to improve slightly off that and should have plenty of improvement.

BEST BET - #3 - Rocket Scientist (NEXT BEST)
Rocket Scientist should be approaching hard fitness third up and there is something about the runners that the Freedman’s are sending out tomorrow that tells me they have been placed here with a fair bit of intent. He was a couple weeks between runs when last stepping out at The Valley and chasing hard the entire straight to finish just behind the winner and runner up. Softer competition now, fitter and ready to win.

THE DANGER - #2 - Royal Fox 
Royal Fox is the highest rated horse off of his last start in this field for the Goodwin camp and I think that second up now off of his 12 week break from racing he is going to look even better than he did last time out. Last time out he raced at Sandown when first up off of that break and found his feet at the 400m to power home and nearly win when finishing second place. He does his best work fresh so I think now’s his time.

VALUE BET  - #4 - Paris Affair
One I can entertain at much longer odds is Paris Affair for Danny O’Brien. This horse drops out of much sharper grade coming all the way back from Caulfield where he was never in the race when posted wide and deep throughout but still was strong through the line behind a smart NZ horse in Interlinked. He should find this level of competition a lot more beatable.

BEST BET - #9 - Tiffany Valentine
Tiffany Valentine is a first up winner in the past and although she hasn’t shown an awful lot in her lead up trials but I think that she should be running well here given that Zac Spain has been booked. She hasn’t been seen at the races for 16 weeks but did break maiden quite sharply in her first campaign and she was moving healthily in her trial. Sneaking suspicion that she just runs well here, going to roll with it.

THE DANGER - #7 - Cheval Chic
It’s hard to knock Cheval Chic after the way she returned from such a long break from racing last time out. She came off a 38 week spell at Werribee when setting a long last before constantly improving from the turn to find the front at the 150m and never be in doubt from there. I think she will only improve off of that and should feature here.

VALUE BET - #8 - Queen Of Deels (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) 
Queen of Deels has only had three career starts but stepped out onto the Synthetic for her last run before a spell last prep and broke the maiden tag then in good fashion. She was 12 weeks between runs then and it was an impressive way to shed the tag. Her two career starts prior were both sharp placings on the turf so I think that she will be strong resuming here.
