Wednesday Racing Tips - Ipswich Racecourse 11/10/23

Racing returns to Ipswich this Wednesday for a midweek card that sees eight competitive races run in mixed grades and I think that we should see some super progressive horses who look forward to Saturday grade racing. I have run through the card and picked out a best bet, next best and outside chance of the day and I think that we will see some great racing so follow me as I outline the card!

Ipswich R3 - Base Metal Fabrication Hcp (C1) (1200m)

Selections:
#1 - A Lot Of Booty (NEXT BEST) - $4.20
#2 - Dealing's Done - $4.20
#5 - Helikedempretty - $6.00
#7 - Jump'n Fly - $10.00

BEST BET - #1 - A Lot Of Booty (NEXT BEST)
A lot of Booty comes into this race at a decent price and I understand it given he takes a step up in competition for this race but he does look well placed in this field to go over again. He resumed from a 25 week spell at the Sunshine Coast before coming to this track where he belted a field from out the front in a dominant display. He now shapes up hard, fits third up and is ready to win again.

THE DANGER - #2 - Dealing's Done
Dealing’s Done steps out for the Symons / Laxon camp and looks like a good thing in this field. He returned to racing off of a 24 week break mid last month where he looks to have come back in fine order after clocking some of the best closing splits of the race from out the back of the field to motor home into third place off of a very deep wide run. He should improve sharply into this with heaps of upside only second up now.

VALUE BET  - #7 - Jump'n Fly
Giving Tony Gollan’s Jump’n Fly another look here after a luckless run second up last time out at Doomben where he was caught very wide in the run in Saturday grade where he went hard and then got the stitch to drop out the race. There have already been four subsequent winners out that race, which itself was won by the very smart Tiger Shark and he now gets the winkers on, draws a better gate and can play a role here.

Ipswich R6 - Stroud Homes Ipswich (Bm65) (800m)

Selections:
#5 - The Rockwell Scale (BEST BET) - $3.20
#2 - Campai - $3.20
#10 - Pianist - $4.60
#11 - Steel My Thunder - $11.00

BEST BET - #5 - The Rockwell Scale (BEST BET)
I haven’t gone too well when tipping in this race in the past in Ipswich, always falling short by a runner or two but I have paid close attention to the way this track generally plays for this distance and I think that map wise, The Rockwell Scale appears to be on the right part of the track to be prominent in a three horse race. On top of that, it is hard to ignore the way that he won a Lismore trial the other week by a massive 5 lengths when running freely out front. He looks well placed and the booking of Orman only adds to that.

THE DANGER - #2 - Campai
Obvious danger in the Morrissey stable’s Campai who looks like a smart horse himself and resumes here off of long 31 week break but generally does go well with fresh legs and I am keen to see how he returns here with no public trials. His last two runs before a spell were both on the Synthetic where he found the front in each and held off all the challengers comfortably to win well from out front. That run style is obviously suitable for an 800m Ipswich race so watch how he comes back to racing.

VALUE BET  - #10 - Pianist
Pianist is one of the few here with racing benefit, being that he is not resuming in this race. He picked up a win a few runs back at this track and trip where he let them get out in front before the turn before absolutely smashing them to the line to win very well and doesn’t look to be losing form when he last stepped out over this track / trip and produced a similar effort to finish second. looks well placed to win again.

Ipswich R7 - The Lawn Shed (Bm70) (1350m)

Selections:
#6 - Cranky Harry - $2.50
#1 - Motomiss - $7.10
#15 - Alberich (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $9.10
#9 - Rosovo - $9.50

BEST BET - #6 - Cranky Harry
Cranky Harry looks like the straightforward option in this race and I think he should be at something of his peak third up here. He’s had two runs back from a 20 week spell and after needing the run first up he took his time to recover before stepping out second up and when he did he ran very well over this track / trip when leading them into the home straight and beating all the challengers bar the one on his back all race who just overran him late. He looks well placed for the win here, albeit a bit short priced.

THE DANGER - #1 - Motomiss
Motomiss looks like a good challenger and on top of that I think that because of the short priced favourite we are probably getting a bit of extra value on her. She has had three runs back from a spell this time in and is starting to get close to a win, putting together back to back placings in her last two. She looks fit, better for her racing experience and ready to win now. Top chance at decent odds.

VALUE BET - #15 - Alberich (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
We will have to see if Alberich actually jumps as he is currently listed as an emergency for Chris Waller but if he does I am interested to see how he comes back to racing after being away for some time. He’s had just the one trial at Rosehill to ready him for the return behind some premier horses where he didn’t do much, but also wasn’t asked for much and he is a very good fresh horse, with one fresh win in three first up runs. I think that he finds a beatable field here, it’s more just a question of how much intent there is from the stable.

Jockey Of The Day – James Orman

If you’ve been following me for a bit you know how much love I have for Jimmy Orman who gets a nice booking of rides for tomorrow’s meeting and I think we should see him go over on at least one of them. He’s been flying this year and Queensland is his stomping ground, I expect a decently bold showing from him tomorrow and have outlined all his rides for the day below:

R1 - #3 - Mishani Flash - $11.00
R2 - #5 - Kalea - $7.50
R3 - #1 - Clairvue Star - $2.20
R5 - #9 - Mishani Sniper - $1.95

Multi Tips For Ipswich Racecourse

I have applied a similar strategy for my multi at Ipswich to that of my midweek Multi at Warwick farm as I have tipped a lot in the earlier races I think there are a few standout types in these lower grade races who have been carefully placed by their stables for ratings purposes and who look to be moving onto Metro grade racing in the future. With a bit of luck I think we should be in the money here early on, follow me below for a fun bet to track over race day!

Best Promotions for Ipswich Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
