Wednesday Racing Tips - Ipswich Racecourse 19/07/23

Midweek racing returns to Ipswich for what should be a very exciting and competitive meeting in Queensland as a bunch of the bigger stables up North prepare their progressive runners to move towards big Winter Carnival races and we see some field tomorrow that look seriously interesting between the early maiden races on the card to the strong BM70 sprint in race 5. I am keen to get stuck into things so follow me below for my best tips for Ipswich this Wednesday!

Ipswich R1 - Sirromet Bundamba Hcp(1200m)

Selections:
#1 - Fleeting Chance (BEST BET) - $4.20
#5 - Malarina - $3.90
#4 - Black Minto - $2.70
#2 - Masterplan - $5.00

BEST BET - #1 - Fleeting Chance (BEST BET)
We seem to be getting a nice bit of value on Fleeting Chance for the Schweida stable due to the queries in the field from the unraced / lightly raced. This progressive horse debuted at this course over the 1200m three weeks ago and was fantastic, winning well there. He stays at the course, Jimmy Orman retains the ride and goes out in trip with more to offer here, hard to see him running poorly.

THE DANGER - #5 - Malarina
The Neasham trained Malarina looks awfully close to a win and gets an honest chance here third up. She debuted at Doomben when boxing along the speed and staying the trip into the placings before running second up last time out at Aquis Park when beating all but the smart Mishani Light. Gets Maloney on now and goes out in trip, hard fit third up, top chance.

VALUE BET  - #4 - Black Minto
Not exactly a value bet but I think that Black Minto will fill the trifecta spot here. He ran at Doomben about a month ago at big odds when running well over her price, leading them into the straight and having a solid kic but finding one better in a very smart Transatlantic. He gets a nice claim from Wheeler and should have a good run but just doesn’t like winning.

Ipswich R5 - Itc Membership Now Open (Bm70) (800m)

Selections:
#3 - Sheezasinga - $6.00
#12 - Idoneous - $5.00
#5 - Tropics (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $26.00
#1 - Ditmas - $9.50

BEST BET - #3 - Sheezasinga
Impossible for me to go past Sheezasinga here who looks ready to win first up off of a 20 week spell since dominantly saluting at Dalby and Warwick to close out last campaign. She’s had a flying trial win at Toowoomba a couple weeks back, has three wins from five runs at this distance, has only not won or placed at this track in one of her four starts here and gets a big 3kg claim from Molloy. She draws barrier three and will ping forward, should be pretty tough to beat from out front.

THE DANGER - #12 - Idoneous
Another astutely placed Kelly Schweida runner in Ideoneous presents as the main danger here. She is third up from a spell and made big improvements last time out when running over this track / trip and being far too good from out front, jumping to the lead and holding them at bay from there. She gets in at just 52.5kg after the claim from Jones and with another good gate she can slide forward and be too strong again.

VALUE BET  - #5 - Tropics (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Unless the horse is a complete dud it is very hard for me to justify these $20.00+ quotes on any horse Jimmy Orman gets booked on, especially in Queensland. The Jokic trained horse Tropics looked to really hit form before being sent for a spell last campaign when winning two on the bounce. He now comes back to racing off the three month break and looked to move very nicely in a recent trial win at Beaudesert. He should be strong late here and can surprise at odds.

Ipswich R8 - Great Northern Hcp (C4) (1666m)

Selections:
#6 - Pick Za Beans (NEXT BEST) - $3.50
#2 - Dis Go Boom - $6.50
#4 - Green Reign - $7.00
#5 - Show Me Your Love  - $5.00

BEST BET - #6 - Pick Za Beans (NEXT BEST)
Pick Za Beans likely picks himself here and has been up around the mark for some time but hasn’t put in a poor effort since coming to Jack Bruce at the beginning of the year. He’s won two and placed in two from five at this trip and has a win at this track / trip combination as well as multiple wins and placings here. If Sam Collett can get him into a decent spot I think he just wins.

THE DANGER - #2 - Dis Go Boom
If I am tipping Pick Za Beans it would be callous to ignore the form around him and that takes us to Luke Hatch’s Dis Go Boom who should be at peak fitness now fourth up into his prep and ran very well last time out here under Wheeler when being bumped around in the run and still finishing with Pick Za Beans in a tight go. He gets in very well weighted under Molloy and should be even stronger than last time here.

VALUE BET - #4 - Green Reign
Matty Dunn has been doing an awesome job lately and I have very much enjoyed watching some of his recent training efforts on winning horses. Green Reign is one from his camp who can hit back hard here after being ridden too hot from a wide gate last time out at Doomben where his condition told late and he faded. He has good form around him from his past couple runs and now gets Thornton aboard who will give him a much more considered run, he maps to be just behind the speed and can surprise late here.

Jockey Of The Day – James Orman

If you’ve been following me for a bit you know how much love I have for Jimmy Orman who gets a nice booking of rides for tomorrow’s meeting and I think we should see him go over on at least one of them. He’s been flying this year and Queensland is his stomping ground, I expect a decently bold showing from him tomorrow and have outlined all his rides for the day below:

R1 - #3 - Mishani Flash - $11.00
R2 - #5 - Kalea  - $7.50
R3 - #1 - Clairvue Star - $2.20
R5 - #9 - Mishani Sniper  - $1.95

Multi Tips For Ipswich Racecourse

I have applied a similar strategy for my multi at Ipswich to that of my midweek Multi at Warwick farm as I have tipped a lot in the earlier races I think there are a few standout types in these lower grade races who have been carefully placed by their stables for ratings purposes and who look to be moving onto Metro grade racing in the future. With a bit of luck I think we should be in the money here early on, follow me below for a fun bet to track over race day!

R5 - #5 - Tropics  - PLC $6.00
R6 - #6 - Pick Za Beans - PLC $1.60

Best Promotions for Ipswich Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
