Wednesday Racing Tips - Ipswich Racecourse 27/09/23

Racing returns to Ipswichthis Wednesday for a great card of midweek racing as the Group 1 races season is in full tilt and we subsequently see a lot of horses who are progressing towards big Saturday grade racing as well as a couple who are coming back from that level and we have two maiden races to kick off the card followed by racing in mixed benchmark grade. I am keen to get stuck into things so follow me below as I outline my best betting spots on the card!

#1 - Align The Planets(BEST BET) - $1.85
#5 - Tambourine Man- $5.00
#4 - Royal Court- $10.00
#8 - Power Flash - $3.90

BEST BET - #1 - Align The Planets (BEST BET)
Best by far at this race, it’s a short one but short for a reason and I think it should be even shorter. Hasn’t come outside 4th last 6 starts, and last time it raced at Ipswich it placed and showed its potential near the end, if it had a better start it would’ve been in contention to take it out. Much easier field here and don’t see any reason why it can’t win. 

THE DANGER - #5 - Tambourine Man
I’ll be straight up, don’t think any horse will beat the #1 here, but when this horse has it’s day it can be close. Has raced at this distance and track before, expect it to be leading towards the end but #1 come in late. Add this horse to your Same Game Multi or Exotics.

VALUE BET  - #4 - Royal Court
This horse has been in some alright form, although doesn’t go well at this distance previously. Is coming back up this this distance after a few races, but I just don’t see it getting over the line. The 10 odds given is around fair, but it would be good to add this with #5 to place and #1 to win in your Same Game Multi or Exotics.

BEST BET - #12 - Liqour
Off a bt of a break but was in some nice form towards the end of it’s last spell. Coming back it didn’t go too well, but everything points that being due simply to an off race. Has won at this track and distance before which makes it very appealing. On top of this it’s carrying a fairly light weight giving it an even better chance, suits the field. Love this horse!

THE DANGER - #3 - Capital Reign
Hard to overlook Capital Reign when it’s raced so well at this track before. Although the form recently just hasn’t been up to standard. It’s used to these races but I don’t see being in contention. If it has a good race though you can expect it to hold off and win from the lead, but the chances of this are slim.

VALUE BET  - #10 - Cabrinella
I don’t get how this horse is 15 odds, should be around 11 at most. It absolutely loves this track and distance, having raced here multiple times before and placing in a fair few of them! Add this horse to your Same Game Multis and Exotics. I suggest having a small bet on this horse if you are taking the #12 this race, so you aren’t disappointed if it comes and wins.

BEST BET - #10 - I Am VooDoo
I Am Voodoo is favourite in this race for a reason, it is a bti freshened but before the break it’s in immaculate form. Winning it’s last 2 and coming 2nd in the previous 3. Not used to this track, normally races at Gold Coast, not the biggest concern but would be nice. Don’t see it coming outside top 3, and hopefully if it comes 2nd or 3rd it loses to our roughie of the day!

THE DANGER - #7 - Hamilton Hill
A bit freshened, having raced at the beginning of the month, and has raced at Ipswich before. It went alright but couldn’t get the win. Loves this distance and normally races it. I think it’s a bit out of it’s depth this race although this horse has shown it’s potential previously. Keep an eye out and maybe add to First Four if feeling risky.

VALUE BET - #15 - Wine Not Roses
Loves this distance and loves coming close, odds seem a but off for this one.Raced at Sunshine Coast in the past, is a track talent over there. Whilst atIpswich it is fairly new I think it will suit it will. Very tough race it’s in butexpect it to stay in contention. Add to your Same Game Multis or FirstFour’s.

One of the most significant considerations in picking up multiple winners is the track bias, which favors horses that don’t get too far back in the run at Ipswich Racecourse. As a result, horses drawn on the inside have a better chance of performing well compared to those drawn towards the outside.
