Wednesday Racing Tips - Kensington Racecourse 01/11/23

Racing returns to Randwick-Kensington for another cracker midweek card as we are well underway the group 1 races season / spring season and I am keen to pick up some winners as the top NSW stables and Victorian stables send forth runners who look to be in for big Spring preps and some who are coming back from Saturday grade racing. I have gone across the seven race card and picked out a best and next best betting spot of the day as well as a roughie of the day and I am keen to get  stuck into things so follow me below as I outline my best betting spots of the day at Randwick-Kensington!

Kensington R3 - Bivouac First Yearlings (Bm72) (1550m)

Selections:
#6 - Petersham (BEST BET) - $1.95
#7 - Zelta - $4.40
#5 - Hinchinjive - $14.00
#8 - Allapercanto - $4.80

BEST BET - #6 - Petersham (BEST BET)
Petersham looks pretty tough to beat for the Waterhouse / Bott stable and I think he looks well placed to get the win second up here at short odds. He came back from a long spell of 31 weeks last time out at this track where he raced well before being held up in the straight and never really having the chance to fully come on. He draws well now, natural improvement second up, all signs point to a good showing.

THE DANGER - #7 - Zelta
Zelta is another smart horse for the Waterhouse / Bott stable that presents well here. he’s had two runs back from a spell and won at his first outing at Kembla Grange in sharp fashion before coming to this course in Saturday grade off of a three week break where he couldn’t really get clear air and was inconclusive when finishing down the track. He comes into this third up now, hard fit and ready to fire again.

VALUE BET  - #5 - Hinchinjive
Hinchinjive looks like a smart animal for the Quinton stable who hasn’t put in a bad effort this campaign. He’s had quite a few runs this time in but just keeps stepping up to the task and I think he is well placed here again despite running in tough company. Most of his efforts have seen him come close to winning and just falling into the placings with a win on board as well and he looks set for another big run here with Clipperton aboard.

Kensington R4 - James Squire (Bm72) (1800m)

Selections:
#8 - Yet He Moves (NEXT BEST) - $4.20
#7 - The Englishman - $4.00
#3 - Go Troppo - $5.50
#6 - Buillt - $7.00

BEST BET - #8 - Yet He Moves (NEXT BEST)
Yet He Moves has been turned around quickly for this assignment which is something that Chris Waller rarely does with his runners and I think the intent is definitely there. He comes off the back of a run here over the 1800m last week where he was held up until a split came at the 200m and once it did he started moving to the line with real purpose to motor home into third place. Well placed to go one better now.

THE DANGER - #7 - The Englishman
The Englishman is a good horse for the Snowden’s who should be approaching peak fitness third up here and looks ready to win. He has had two runs back from a seventeen week spell, both coming at Kembla Grange and he improved sharply in his last one to pull out widest on the turn off of a tough run and still find plenty to power home to the line when just missing and coming second there.

VALUE BET  - #3 - Go Troppo
Go Troppo has been running very well this time in for David Pfieffer and I think can not be counted out here either. He stepped out in Saturday grade two runs back where he proved he was more than up to the task when running third behind Loving Cilla before racing at Newcastle last time out where he showed a bold display to click up in the last 350m and race away for a soft win. Well placed again.

Kensington R5 - Ranvet (Bm72) (1000m)

Selections:
#8 - Gilmore - $3.90
#3 - Valiancy - $3.60
#4 - Walkin'talkin' - $8.50
#7 - Vegas Raider (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $9.00

BEST BET - #8 - Gilmore
I don’t see Gilmore slowing down any time soon for the Snowden’s and he comes off the back of a great win over the 1100m at the Hawkesbury where he found the fence and led them out and gave a strong kick in the straight to show he was above those and kicked away well. I think that he is flying and coming back 100m does not hurt given his run style. Well placed here.

THE DANGER - #3 - Valiancy
Valiancy is a class animal for the Maher and Eustace stable who resumes here and the market is certainly giving him ample respect on his returning run so I think that he is worth keeping your eye on. He’s contested and won tougher races than this in the past and now comes here off the back of two trials to lead him back into racing where, whilst ridden conservatively, I do think that he will be ridden with a fair bit of intent here first up.

VALUE BET - #7 - Vegas Raider (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Always giving respect to last start winners and it does seem that David Pfieffer has sent out runners for tomorrow’s meeting with plenty of intent so I am respecting the last start winner from the stable in Vegas Raider. He was eight weeks between runs when stepping out over this distance at Kembla Grange and he saluted dominantly there. Although he didn’t beat much the time in which he did things reads well for this and I am keen to see how he goes here.

Jockey Of The Day – James McDonald

A clear top jockey in this meeting is James Mcdonald. He is the best jockey in the country and one of the best in the world. Kensington is his stomping ground and I have already tipped a few of his rides above but I think this looks a particularly good meeting for him. I have highlighted all his rides below:

R1 - #4 - Extreme Spirit - $6.50
R2 - #5 - Atlantic Ocean - $3.00
R3 - #1 - Hollywood Hero - $2.50
R4 - #4 - Lascars - $3.70
R6 - #6 - Arranmore - $3.80
R7 - #3 - Jupitus - $4.00

Multi Tips For Kensington Racecourse

I have opted to make a hybrid between following Jmac and my other top runner of the day in a place multi as there are a lot of smaller fields in some of these midweek races, which makes our chances of picking up the win better and also of having a horse run into the placings. I think that this should be a solid value bet and a fun thing to track over race day.

Best Promotions for Kensington Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
