#4 - Sneaky Shark (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $8.00
#11e - Sha Of Gomer - $7.00
BEST BET - #2 - Capital Asset
Capital Asset looks to come back in very good order for Peter and Paul Snowden and I think he has struck a winnable race first up. He’s a three time winner from ten runs and his last run came back at the end of March in the Heavy where he relished getting onto a heavy track before being sent away for a spell. His win two back before then came atop the ground so he clearly is a bit dynamic, handling all conditions and the way he has been trialling makes me think the stable is keen to get a ratings boosting win first up here.
THE DANGER - #10 - Dakota Vroom
Dakota Vroom is a good horse for Chris Waller that has only had the three career starts for a close placing on debut and won two back. He resumed off of a twenty week spell at Warwick Farm over the 1100m where he set just off the speed in the run and found the front at the 100m, driving hard through the line for a strong win. Then, last time out he stepped out in Saturday company over the 1200m where he had to set to the rear from the wide gate and looked for a run in the straight but never saw daylight behind a wall until way too late to win and should just about peak now third up. Dangerous.
VALUE BET - #4 - Sneaky Shark (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Sneaky Shark is one of few who isn’t on resumption in this race and his fitness edge could play a key role in combination with the booking of Schiller. He was three weeks between runs when racing at Canterbury last time out where he missed the start, found the fence and recovered and when he found a run in the straight he kept kicking to finish behind King of Naples. We all saw what King of Naples did last Saturday so that form obviously reads well and he will have more to offer now here, go close.
