Wednesday Racing Tips - Kensington Racecourse 08/03/23

Racing continues at Randwick / Kensington off the back of an awesome Guineas day at the track last weekend and there are some great little midweek races to continue what has already been an exciting Autumn Carnival in NSW. There are eight races on the card for a combined prize of $440,000 throughout the card and I think that we should see some Metro level horses who are quickly progressing towards Saturday racing. The track is rated a good 4 and the rail is in true position.

KENSINGTON R1 - RANVET MAIDEN PLATE (1400m)

Selections:
#8 - Outlawed (BEST BET) - $2.00
#2 - Gago - $6.50
#5 - Ring Ahoy - $8.50
#1 - Buillt - $6.50

BEST BET - #8 - Outlawed (BEST BET)
Outlawed looks a top chance to go over for the O’Shea stable as he gets in the lightest in this field and draws the rail here. The rail’s in true position and the inside of the track will be fresh at this point in the race card so the inside will be the place to be. He will be hard fit coming into this fourth up and has only narrowly gone down to come second in his last two. He should have won at Newcastle two back in my opinion but the protest was unsuccessful and then race on a bog down Warwick track to narrowly miss again. His splits read well in this field and I am keen to have something on.

THE DANGER - #2 - Gago
Gago has been running well without winning for Chris Waller and gets a good chance to go over here and break maiden fourth up after two solid placings at Warwick farm first and second up before going to Canterbury park and getting everything against him there, being wide throughout and getting bumped around but still showing a smart run style. I think Pebble can see him settle closer in the run and will be strong late.

VALUE BET  - #5 - Ring Ahoy
Ring Ahoy is another progressive three-year-old for Chris Waller that comes into this third up and should just about be at peak fitness now after two solid runs this prep. The last came at Kembla Grange when he showed a great turn of foot at the 250m but was bumped at the 200m and also the tactics were queried there, with the stable being urged to ride him further forward I think that he only needs to improve a bit into this to be in the finish.

Randwick R5 - EXCEEDANCE'S 1ST YEARLING-BM78 (1550m)

Selections:
#3 - Jupitus (NEXT BEST) - $3.40
#2 - Kokoro- $2.00
#8 - The Denzel - $13.00
#4 - Journalism - $5.50

BEST BET - #3 - Jupitus (NEXT BEST)
Jupitus looks to be one of Waller’s stand out four year old who has resumed in great order when running at this track two weeks back. He was slowly away there, sitting three deep with cover and then motoring home, clocking one of the best last 600m’s of the meeting then. If his prior preps are anything to go by he should hold form now, steps out to 1550m second up and stays at this track he will be all the better for it. He looked to just truck along in a recent trial to keep him ready for this.

THE DANGER - #2 - Kokoro
Kokoro is an impressive gelding for O’Shea that has been exceptional in running this prep with a smart first up win at this track over the 1400m when he was bumped around and still had too much for them there to draw clear of the field and score smartly. He then went to Rosehill as a $6.00 favourite and sat three wide with no cover and whilst the run told he still managed to run hard into second placing. He maps to sit just off the speed and run over them late.

VALUE BET  - #8 - The Denzel
The Denzel is screaming for a win third up now after two super close placings, the most recent of which coming at this track over the 1400m to the aforementioned Jupitus where he sat on the fence and led but that wasn’t the place to be that day and he was run over late but was still very game in defeat. He comes into this third up now and will be better for the runs, hard fit but draws wide and I’m not sure if that will wear him down late.

KENSINGTON R6 - YARRAMAN PARK (BM78) (1100m)

Selections:
#3 - Hypothetical - $2.70
#5 - Arbitration - $4.50
#7 - Picarones (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)- $11.00
#4 - Never Second - $14.00

BEST BET - #3 - Hypothetical
Hypothetical is a talented horse for the Freedman stable that comes into this second up after resuming from a 13 week spell and racing at Rosehill over the 1100m in a much stronger race than he gets today and whilst he looked like he was in a decent spot early in the run he landed up super wide late and just found a couple better. He draws wide again now but class / talent can get him home here without surprising.

THE DANGER - #5 - Arbitration
Arbitration resumes here for Cummings after an 18 week spell and was pretty impressive last prep and should be ready to fire first up if his past preps are anything to go by. Cummings is absolutely flying at the moment and Arbitration has had two soft trials to lead him into this, being the runner up in the first and winning the last one.

VALUE BET - #7 - Picarones (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Picarones is a talented four year old mare who resumes for James Cummings after a 17 week spell but is super strong first up in general and has had two soft trials too lead him into this, the first of which he fended off the aforementioned Arbitration. He’s a proven winner over this track, loves it here and draws to have every chance from the inside, sitting on the speed and he should have a good kick on the turn.

Jockey Of The Day – Brenton Avdulla

Brenton Avdulla has been outstanding this year and really of late, at Randwick he rode some excellent winners on the weekend and overall he’s just been firing for some top NSW stables. He gets a top selection of rides for Kensington tomorrow for John O’Shea and Chris Waller prominently.

Best Promotions for Kensington Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
