Wednesday Racing Tips - Randwick-Kensington Racecourse 27/03/24

Racing returns to Randwick-Kensington this Wednesday for another sharp card this week as we are underway with the Autumn Group 1 races season after huge racing kicked on last weekend and I have run through this week’s card and picked out a best bet, next best and best outside chance of the day so follow me below as I run through the card!

BEST BET - #4 - Imperial Force (BEST BET)
Imperial Force looks like a very sharp debutant for Chris Waller here and I think he should be taking this out on debut here. He has had two very sharp trials to lead him into the debut and I think that from the perfect draw and with Jmac aboard he only runs well here. His last Rosehill trial where he won very well reads good enough for him to make a sharp debut here and I think he will have something in hand for these.

THE DANGER - #3 - Hezdarnhottoo
Hezdarnhottoo has the run on board which should carry him very far for this assignment and he ran very well on debut for Bjorn Baker so I am keen to give him a look here. He debuted at this course a couple weeks ago when jumping awkwardly and setting fourth and two wide and working through the run to lead but he faded late and finished third. He will be fitter for that run and should get a more economical run in transit this time around.

VALUE BET  - #1 - Catoggio
Catoggio returns to racing here off the back of a 20 week break and better for two trials to lead him into racing. He debuted in the MARIBYRNONG back in November at Flemington when running very well down the straight for a debut run and finishing fourth there. He now has the benefit of a sharp Randwick runner up placing trial last week and should be prominent here.

BEST BET - #5 - Pinito (NEXT BEST)
Pinito rates very highly here for James Cummings and I think he should be closer to favouritism. He debuted here two weeks ago when running over the 1000m and working well into the run, looking the winner on the straight and just being overhauled late to run second. He should get a stack of benefit off that run and with Marquand in the saddle he will be running on well here.

THE DANGER - #11 - Useapin 
Useapin looks like another one of the very sharp Waller debutants stepping out at the track tomorrow and I think he has to be respected on representing the stable alone. He has had two very sharp trials to lead him into racing with the most recent being a very sharp trial where he ran on into second. He should be sharp debuting here.

VALUE BET  - #14 - Zsa Zsa
Zsa Zsa is a smart debutant for the Waterhouse and Bott camp who can win on debut here with some luck. He has had two trials to lead him into racing with the most recent of which being a blitzing trial win at this course three weeks ago where he led and found a strong kick in the straight. He looks likke he has been revved up for start one off the back of those efforts and could win without shocking here.

BEST BET - #5 - Zondee
Zondee looks like a very progressive horse for the Hawkes camp who I think could and should go on with things here. He stepped out second up at this course off of a 5 week break a fortnight ago when setting fourth a bit awkwardly and working through the run to improve to the front of the race and once he got there he never let go and won well. He should be going on with things now.

THE DANGER - #4 - Time Quest 
Time Quest comes here third up off of a 29 week break from racing for Matt Smith and he should be running very well here given his past two. He has placed very close runner up in both the runs since returning to racing and shapes up off the back of a nice 1400m run at this course a couple weeks ago. Hard fit now third up he can go over here.

VALUE BET - #1 - Russian Roni (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Seems like it’s a day for the top stables to go head to head and Waterhouse / Bott send out. He stepped out for his first run in 23 weeks at Warwick Farm where he ran very well. He found the rail early when leading and giving a strong kick despite being challenged in the straight and only finding one better late in the piece. Gets in very well weighted and should be strong here.
