Wednesday Racing Tips - Rosehill Racecourse 27/09/23

Racing returns to Rosehill this Wednesday for a great card of midweek racing as the Group 1 races season is in full tilt and we subsequently see a lot of horses who are progressing towards big Saturday grade racing as well as a couple who are coming back from that level and we have two maiden races to kick off the card followed by racing in mixed benchmark grade. I am keen to get stuck into things so follow me below as I outline my best betting spots on the card!

BEST BET - #4 –Only Love (NEXT BEST)
In the middle of a lovely spell, only missing out on the place twice. Has every right to win this, even though had a rough last start it showed it’s form in the last stretch. Not used to this track but loves the distance, think it will suit Rosehill well. Only Love also is tried by C J Waller which can never been overlooked, although the jockey isn’t too well known.

THE DANGER - #3–Frank Express
Main thing to know about this horse is it is rising in class. Not too sure how this will run but need to back due to it’s form. Hasn’t won at this distance but will be leading and has the potential to hold on. 2 wins and 1 2nd in it’s last 5. Zac Lloyd is also in some fine form, and I expect him to have a few winners this Rosehill.

VALUE BET  - #8–Classic Deel
Not that used to this distance, but as shown in it’s previous outings, it has the potential to come in late down the stretch. Is not in the best form but the odds reflect it’s potential. Don’t be surprised if this horse comes flying down late and wins by a few lengths. Watch out.

BEST BET - #7 - Carrazana
Favourite in this race for the reason, off a decent break after having a nice win at Randwick in a similar distance. Has raced at Rosehill before in a trial and came 2nd, knows the track and that’s always useful. Suits this field well, and the BM72 isn’t an issue. 

THE DANGER - #5–Iron Man
Came 2nd last start at Rosehill. Off a small break but nothing major. This distance suits Iron Man, it loves to show it’s full potential around 1400m. Rachel King is the jockey who has been in alright form nothing notable. Could see this horse challenge the leader and possible hold or come in. Don’t write it off.

VALUE BET  - #9–Capital Heart (Roughie of the track)
This horse is in some of it’s best form it’ll be in, placing in 5 of it’s last 6 it knows how to come in late, although would be better it if knew how to hold off properly. Should be leading until near the very end, and if it loses don’t expect it to be by much unless it just has one of those races. These odds scream value and it’s one of my favourites today.

Off a short break, went well in the trial. Normally races much longerdistances, but aiming for shorter for the new spell. Think these distances suitit well, just need to hope it done try and come in too late. Expect it to be inan open position come the turn, and hopefully find an opening.

THE DANGER - #15 - Allasandra
Assesandra is in some fine form. Winning 3 of its past 4 races and coming 2nd in the other. All in this distance and half in this class. This horse is a scary one to say the least, but I feel like the favourite can beat this 7 times out of 10. Drawn favourably but has it’s issues, off a short break but nothing notable.

VALUE BET - #1 - Verbano
The odds at 23 seems a bit high for this horse. It has the potential and if off a massive break. Used to this distance but not used to the track. Really not sure how this horse will run but judging by it’s history it has every chance. Keep an eye out!

One of the most significant considerations in picking up multiple winners is the track bias, which favors horses that don’t get too far back in the run at Flemington Racecourse. As a result, horses drawn on the inside have a better chance of performing well compared to those drawn towards the outside. I have factored in this aspect when making my multi bets, taking into account the horses' respective preps and their drawn barrier positions. Follow below for a multi to track over race day!
