Wednesday Racing Tips - Rosehill Racecourse 28/02/24

Racing returns to Rosehill this Wednesday for a bumper seven race card and there are some high level sprints and one staying race and we have some very solid contests on the card overall. I have picked out my three best betting spots on the card and as such am keen to run through them and give you guys some good bets for tomorrow so follow me below!

BEST BET - #1 - Yarrawonga (BEST BET)
Yarrawonga has to rate highly here for the Waterhouse and Bott camp after the way he has been going this campaign with two wins and a close placing in four runs this time in. His last run saw him step up to this trip at Warwick Farm and handle it very well when taking over in the straight and holding on for a solid win. I think he shapes up well now for this hard fit and in form.

THE DANGER - #4 - Angel Of Light 
Angel Of Light has been building towards an assignment like this for the Hawkes boys and should have the fitness to handle this trip now off the back of what has been a consistent prep thus far without winning. He was never given a chance to be in the race last time from deep and wide but would have retained a big fitness benefit from that outing at the 2000m and prior to that he has shown a bunch of talent late in his runs. I think he will be dangerous here from the good gate and with Lloyd aboard.

VALUE BET  - #7 - Wilshire Boulevard
Wilshire Boulevard might be a milk drinker with just the three wins in 28 starts but I think that at the big price he comes in at and the set up he gets it would be foolish to count him out entirely here. He gets in at limit weight after the claim from Bourke, draws a good gate and is hard fit for this trip after running a close runner up placing last time over this distance at Warwick Farm. Go well at odds.

BEST BET - #2 - Limburg (NEXT BEST)
Has to be Limburg here to break maiden at start number nine. He’s come back in outstanding shape from a 15 week spell and meets a beatable field here. His two runs this time in have seen him step out at Sandown Lakeside first up where he only found one better in a smart horse before running over the Mile last time out at Moonee Valley where he looked the winner a long way before just being over run late. He should be winning now hard fit and back 100m in trip.

THE DANGER - #6 - Little Jeanie
Little Jeanie comes over for his first Australian start now under Chris Waller off the back of a debut preparation in New Zealand and given the way that Waller goes with his imports I think it would be foolish not to give him a look here. His prior two starts have seen him go very close and whilst 1500m first up is no easy feet to tackle I think he goes well off the back of a recent Sydney trial effort.

VALUE BET  - #15 - Aunty Rene
Aunty Rene has the runs on board and that should give her an edge on some of these for John O’Shea. She has had two runs back from a spell this time in and has steadily improved between them and should be approaching peak fitness third up here. His last run saw him step out from the 1300m to 1400m and lead along the fence when just finding one better late in the piece in a smart horse, Xidaki. She’ll be hard fit and an extra 100m in trip looks suited to her run style.

BEST BET - #3 - Mare Of Mt Buller
Hard to knock Waller’s Mare Of Mt Buller after the way she has kicked off her career and the intent that the stable seems to have sending their runners out to this course. He broke maiden at the end of last year at just start number two at Kembla in fine fashion before stepping out at Canterbury over this trip at the beginning of the year and winning again with something in hand. He now comes back from a short break and has had two trials to lead him back into racing, should be sharp off the back of those.

THE DANGER - #4 - Waikato Girl
Waikato Girl came back to racing off of a 13 week spell since breaking maiden for Mick Freedman at this course late last year and returned to racing seemingly very well. She stepped out at Kensington over the 1400m where she did plenty of work through the run from out wide but the winner just proved too strong late when into second place. Fitter and out in trip now she will be as dangerous as ever.

VALUE BET - #5 - Zarrose (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
One who I am having a stab at odds with is Zarrose for the Snowden’s. He has shaped up to be quite a smart horse with two wins and two placings in his six run career and I think he only comes in at the big price due to the run last time out. However, when you look into that run he never was given clear air at all when trapped along the fence and just not able to get into the race. The two prior efforts were very strong and I am keen to give him another chance here.

Avdulla has found great form this year with a near 50% place rate and near 20% strike rate. He has been super consistent in NSW and that has been recognised to a large extent by the bookings that he has been getting. He gets a top selection of rides for some prominent stables such as James Cummings and Chris Waller and I think he is a top shot to pick up at least one win on Rosehill at Rosehill.

Whilst it is scary to tip in some of the bigger field races I think that with it being early in the season and a lot of runners being on resumption that there are some clear top picks in each field and as such I have combined my best runners of the day into a place multi. Whilst it might not be the same level of value we generally get I think that it is a worthwhile bet and has a good chance of coming in.
