BEST BET - #7 - The Hass (BEST BET)
An exciting and high level contest to close out the day for us but I am keen to be in the corner of the Sandhu prodigy, The Hass, who looks to have come back in outstanding order for the stable. His first two runs saw him disqualified due to Pinn’s DQ’s but both the runs were very strong before coming to this track in the Heavy going two weeks ago where he sat just off the speed before joining the lead at the 200m and fighting hard to just find one better in noted swimmer Sig-Positano who is a class animal herself. The form clearly reads very well for this, he’s hard fit, flying and will be tough to beat.
THE DANGER - #6 - Brave Star
Phillip Stokes looks to have a very good thing going in Brave Star who came to the stable at the beginning of the year from the Corstens’ and all you can do is win which is what he has done in his two career starts for the stable. Both of the runs have come on genuine heavy tracks at Werribee and in both he has just been far too strong to the line for them and is a clear swimmer. I am keen to see how he goes third up here, hard fit but back on top of the ground a bit.
VALUE BET - #12 - Catalina Black Cat
Catalina Black Cat I’m not sure if she has been going well enough to win this stepping up in town now but she can definitely fill a first four spot. She took a few runs to get going but once she did wow she has been putting together some sharp runs. She ran in the Heavy at Seymour a couple weeks back where she was wide and on pace throughout and kept finding the line to only be gunned down in the final strides. She then won next time out at the track in the heavy again and was very strong, leading and kicking hard never in doubt. I think she can go on with it now.
