BEST BET - #3 - Fretta - (BEST BET)
Last time out at Sandown-Hillside, Fretta was right up there with the leaders and put in a solid effort. He showed great speed and battled on fairly well. This time, I think it's got a more favourable draw, which should give it a better shot. With that advantage, this horse is definitely among the dangers and one to watch closely. In its last start, Fretta was 55kg and ended up finishing 2nd, behind Zoltan (58kg) over 1500m after being right in the thick of things around the corner. Rates a terrific each-way play, I think.
THE DANGER - #10 - Alcabeel
Finished 4th on July 17 at Randwick-Kensington. That should be a good form guide for this race. Likes running first-up.
VALUE BET - #9 - Starianne
Its last race saw this horse finish 9th of 14 at Sandown-Hillside in a BM70 over 1300m. However, I think Starianne can do a better job here from barrier 11. Very good record at the track, watch out for it on Wednesday.

Cheval Chic showed some promise at Sandown-Lakeside last time. In it's last start, Cheval Chic placed 3rd out of 13 in a BM70 on July 17 over 1200m, on a heavy track, just 0.6 lengths behind Holly Lolly (58.5kg) with 57.5kg at $9.50. Likes running second-up, good record.
THE DANGER - #9 - Amigo
Wednesday's race sees some good odds to have a crack, I think. With Luke Nolen on board, that gives me confidence too.
VALUE BET - #3 - Japanese Emperor
Japanese Emperor is first-up on Wednesday. It hit the track on March 24 and Japanese Emperor put in a solid effort, finishing 6th out of 10. Very good stats when its racing at this 1200m distance.

Last run, it finished 3rd at Seymour over 1200m. Should be right in the thick of things. Rates a terrific each-way play, I think.
THE DANGER - #9 - Skipjack
Last start, finished 3rd of 11 at Flemington in a Open over 1000m, just 1.2 lengths behind Landmark (57kg) carrying 56kg at $6.00. Racing well at the moment, so I like its chances.
VALUE BET - #8 - Superior Zara
Last time out, it had a perfect run and won, looking much fitter. This horse knows how to bring the heat and last time out at Bendigo, it showed us exactly what he's made of. With Jordan Childs in the saddle, its a force to be reckoned with and could very well take the win again. Likes running first-up.
