Previously, it finished 5th of 9 at Caulfield in a Open on July 27, 2024 over 1100m, 5.1 lengths behind Herbert Park (56.5kg). Should enjoy running first-up as has been the case in it's career.

THE DANGER - #5 - Honor Galore
Honor Galore is first-up on Wednesday. Has a positive first-up record in its career. Previously, it finished 9th of 16 at Flemington in a Open on November 9, 2023 over 1100m, 6.6 lengths behind Mumbai Muse (57kg). Has been good before when it's first-up.

VALUE BET  - #8 - Elba
Coming off a solid effort at Sandown-Hillside, running 4th and just outside the placings. But I think it can likely improve in this race. Good record when it's fourth-up.

BEST BET - #3 - Royal Invader (NEXT BEST)
Dee was on board last run and won over 1400m at Sandown-Lakeside. So I think that's a good form guide for Wednesday's race and should be tough to beat down the straight. Has looked good this prep and has enjoyed winning form fourth-up before.

THE DANGER - #1 - Starianne
Its last race saw this horse finish 9th of 14 at Sandown-Hillside in a BM70 over 1300m. However, I think Starianne can do a better job here from barrier 4. Sandown stats are excellent, having not finished outside the top 3 yet.

VALUE BET  - #9 - Thinking Rain
Last start, Thinking Rain was 5th of 12 at Bendigo on July 25 over 1300m on a heavy track, 4.7 lengths behind Superior Zara (58kg) with 58.5kg at $5.00. But it should improve here. Sandown stats are excellent, having not finished outside the top 3 yet.

BEST BET - #3 - La Casona
I like the form of La Casona for Race 8 at Sandown on Wednesday. Won at Sandown-Hillside over 1400m on July 24. Racing well at the moment, so I like its chances.

THE DANGER - #15 - Matawai 
Its last race saw this horse finish 6th of 14 at Sandown-Hillside in a BM70 over 1300m. However, I think Matawai can do a better job here from barrier 7. Has been good before when it's first-up.

VALUE BET - #10 - Hartman
Hartman is first-up on Wednesday. Last run, took down Ladyking (57kg) over 1600m at Gosford (starting price: $2.60).I think that was an impressive win, so I'm backing Hartman to get the win on Wednesday, especially from barrier 12 with Mark Zahra in the saddle.
