Wednesday Racing Tips - Warwick Farm Racecourse 04/02/23

Warwick Farm Racecourse 28/06/23
Warwick Farm Racecourse 08/02/23

Racing at Warwick Farm continues into the midweeks for the second week of February and there is an exciting seven race meeting with most races being over sprint distance and there is also the lone staying race at 2200m, as such it should be an exciting card. There is a total of $385,000 prize money on offer and without much maiden racing there should prove to be some good horses tomorrow at Warwick Farm Racecourse.

Warwick Farm R3 - CASTELVECCHIO 1ST YEARL (BM68) (1400m)

Selections:
#4 - Moscow Night  - $3.20
#3 - Wollombi - $3.90
#1 - Atlantic Ocean (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $6.50
#5 - Glint Of Silver - $5.50

BEST BET - #4 - Moscow Night
I have to be with Moscow Night here who gets Jmac aboard now, taking over from Tim Clark who rode the horse in an impressive return to racing just over a month ago at this track/trip when sitting on the fence leading and having a strong kick at the end to keep the field safe there. The mid trip sectionals were the best of the day and I think he can only improve off that and meets a similar field here.

THE DANGER - #3 - Wollombi
Wollombi presents as the main threat to Moscow Night. She has been exceptional so far this prep with a first up second placing at the beginning of January that has already seen three subsequent winners. Amongst those winners is Wollombi who came to this track/trip two weeks ago and found a spot in the last 200m to run over them late. The times from that read well and I think she is a top chance to go over again.

VALUE BET  - #1 - Atlantic Ocean (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Atlantic Ocean is a Chris Waller trained horse racing under Nash and must be respected off that alone. However, he returned to the races after a short spell two weeks ago at this track over the 1200m on the soft going and whilst he wasn’t in the finish, I really liked how he ran in the last 300m of the race and the times read well. This suggests he is honest and there is definitely scope for improvement off the back of that run. Look for a bold showing

Warwick Farm R5 - TAB (BM72) (1200m)

Selections:
#7 - Latenighttoughguy (BEST BET) - $4.60
#4 - Cotton Fingers - $3.60
#2 - Le Vizir - $8.50
#3 - The Art Of Flying - $11.00

BEST BET - #7 - Latenighttoughguy (BEST BET)
Latenighttoughguy is a horse I have a lot of time for. The Waller trained Gelding is as honest as they come, rarely running a bad race. He seems to have found a bit of form returning to Australia from Hong Kong as this prep he picked up a soft first up win at Gosford over the 1000m when charging hard to the line late. Last tiem out at Canterbury he was given no favours, being inconvenienced throughout the run and still charging hard late to end up third. His racing style reads well for this and I think that he finds another beatable field here.

THE DANGER - #4 - Cotton Fingers
Cotton Fingers does look good and has a whole lot more appeal with Jmac on. He comes into this third up now and should be hard fit for this. On resuming from a long spell he placed a narrow second at this track over the 1100m but the times were slow and I am not sure how well it reads. However, the running style looks good and whilst he didn’t do much at Rosehill second up I think that he will be better suited in this field. He’s just not the one I want to have my money on.

VALUE BET  - #2 - Le Vizir
Le Vizir is a five-year-old Gelding that resumes today here for the Snowden’s under Sam Clipperton and he rates quite highly in this field. He’s also a proven first up winner with two wins in four first up runs. They have had just the two soft public trials to lead him into this and I think that will suffice. If he can find a good spot to settle and with a bit of luck in running he can take this out.

Warwick Farm R6 - TOO DARN HOT 1ST YEARL (BM72) (1100m)

Selections:
#7 - Petulant (NEXT BEST) - $4.20
#1 - Diamond Dealer - $4.20
#12 - Zanzibar Gem - $9.50
#3 - Sunrise Ruby - $7.00

BEST BET - #7 - Petulant (NEXT BEST)
Petulant looks well placed in this field and I don’t think he can be fully judged off his first up run last time out. He returned to the races after a long spell at this track over the 1000m a few weeks back as a long priced favourite in the market and whilst he looked good there, he got bumped around just before the finish to end up fourth. The stable looks to have put him forward for that as a set up run and he will be fitter and come to hand quickly here.

THE DANGER - #1 - Diamond Dealer - $4.20
All you can do is win and that is exactly what Diamond Dealer has been doing. The Bjorn Baker four-year-old has been in outstanding form with three wins and a placing in five runs this prep but really looks to have found his stride now off the back of a smart win three weeks ago at Randwick Racecourse. He fought off some really progressive horses there and this field looks softer than that. The query is he finally goes up in the weights but I think he’s a nice horse and can win this. Serious threat.

VALUE BET - #12 - Zanzibar Gem
Zanzibar Gem just couldn’t handle the heavy going last time out at Wyong when second up off a short spell. He went back to the paddock a winner prior to then when a short favourite at Muswellbrook. Whilst he didn’t handle the going his time still wasn’t bad and prior to that he narrowly went down to the in form Another Cognac at this track over the 1000m and the run/time there looks good enough for this. He should be fit as anything coming into this and can take it out.

Jockey Of The Day – James Mcdonald

Who else but J-mac. He’s the best jockey in the country and one of the best in the world. NSW racetracks are his stomping ground and he gets a lengthy, good stack of rides for some prominent stables here today. I have already tipped a couple of his runners but have outlined all his rides below.

R1 - #3 - Make A Call - $4.20
R2 - #1 - Pereille - $1.85
R3 - #4 - Moscow Night - $3.20
R4 - #2 - Handsome - $3.10
R5 - #4 - Cotton Fingers - $3.60
R6 - #11 - Jayanthi - $9.00
R7 - #10 - Viadelamore - $9.00

Multi Tips For Warwick Farm Racecourse

I think with a smaller track like Warwick Farm it is best to focus on those runners near the rail but also this track is quite tricky and as such I have chosen to also consider the jockeys booked for each of the horses in each race as I think a bit of good steering is crucial in winning races here.

R3 - #4 - Moscow Night - PLC $1.85
R5 - #4 - Cotton Fingers - PLC $1.55
R6 - #7 - Petulant - PLC $1.75

Total Odds = $5.01
$50 Stake = $250.90 Return!

Best Promotions for Warwick Farm Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
