Wednesday Racing Tips - Warwick Farm Racecourse 06/12/23

Short but sharp card tomorrow at Warwick Farm with six races on the program and the feature of the day being a 100k super maiden which I am very keen for. I have run through the card and picked out my best betting spots on it and I do think there are some particularly good spots. Follow me below as I outline the days racing at Warwick Farm!

BEST BET - #3 - First Light 
Sneaky little high level staying contest to kick the card off here and whilst the first three lines of betting are all close to each other I am keen on the third line of betting to get one over the other two. This Waller horse has been going okay this prep, placing in two runs from seven but he’s got the benefit of a run at this trip last start, rates highly in this field after coming back in depth and I think with Berry aboard he just wins.

THE DANGER - #2 - Auspicious Cloud 
I just think Auspicious Cloud likes to get in his own way a bit but he should be hard fit fourth up now, rates well above this field off the back of his last run in Saturday company at this trip and gets a good draw. He needs to settle closer in the run to feature but he will be one of the strongest late.

VALUE BET  - #4 - Mist Of Battle (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) 
Hard to knock a David Payne and D Gibbons combination and this one looks primed for the step up here off the back of a last start win where he was second up and stepped out over the 2100m at Wyong where he took over in the straight and jetted away for a soft win. Third up now, ready to win again, gets in light and should be prominent to some extent here.

BEST BET - #3 - Dazzle Legend (BEST BET) 
Dazzle Legend looks like a well placed favourite in this feature of the day and comes here second up and in his second overall prep at the races. He ran a very close second place when last second up and looks to have returned to racing well after coming off of a decently long spell at Canterbury a couple weeks ago and running home well into the placings. Should improve into this second up and Nash will be giving him the A1 ride.

THE DANGER - #1 - Zaragoza
Cummings and these debutants man, you just can’t knock the stable when it comes to this guy. He’s a killer with his first starters and Zaragoza comes here to make his debut off the back of three sharp trials and does look primed to run well here first up. Good gate, good jockey, should go well.

VALUE BET  - #5  - Tarabeau
Others that you can’t knock are Waterhouse / Bott runners who are lightly raced and the stable rarely puts a foot wrong in these sort of races. Tarabeau comes here off of a 42 week spell and has only had the three career starts but the way he is trialling is hard to ignore. Both the trials have come at Randwick and he has been solid in both of them, finishing runner up to some good horses, with a winner out of his most recent trial.

BEST BET - #3 - Crafty Eagle (NEXT BEST)  
Another well placed favourite is John Thompson’s Crafty Eagle who is resuming from a solid spell but has been trialling very well and generally does not take many to get going at all. He’s got two first up wins in three first up runs and comes off the back of some sharp trials for this. He has to carry the big weight, but likely runs up to it.

THE DANGER - #6 - Miss Hellfire 
Miss Hellfire is a class animal and honestly it only speaks volumes that Crafty Eagle is still favourite. She resumed in much tougher company than this at Rosehill at the beginning of last month when running as favourite but only managing to run third there. However she generally improves sharply second up, comes back in depth and gets a claimer aboard. Should undoubtedly be in the finish.

VALUE BET - #1 - King Of Naples 
King Of Naples is another who resumes here and is way back in depth compared to what he generally contests. He hasn’t been seen for four months since racing in a BM78 at Randwick where he placed runner up behind Tintookie and now comes back after two sharp trials where he has ran on into second in both. Should be strong here as well and wouldn’t be surprised to see him win this.
