Wednesday Racing Tips - Warwick Farm Racecourse 07/02/24

Short but sharp card tomorrow at Warwick Farm with seven races on the program and the feature of the day being the Farnan Yearlings Selling Now Mdn Plat, a super maiden for a share of $100k. I have run through the card and picked out my best betting spots on it and I do think there are some particularly good spots. Follow me below as I outline the days racing at Warwick Farm!

BEST BET - #6 - Tartaglia (BEST BET)
Tartaglia has had only had the one start for James Cummings but rates highly off the back of it and I think the maiden win can easily come in the opening race of the day here. He debuted at the end of last month at Rosehill over the 1100m when coming from deep along the rail to weave a path along the fence and jet home in an impressive debut that saw him place third. I think he shapes up very well now second up off the back of that effort and only runs well here, the one to beat for me.

THE DANGER - #1 - Bosustow
Bosustow looks like quite a smart two year old for Annabel Neasham who I think, under the steering of Jmac, and with natural improvement second up can run a cracker race here. He debuted at Rosehill two weeks ago when stepping out over the 1100m in Saturday company and coming from last and two wide to actually be quite strong through the line when making some ground between runners.

VALUE BET  - #3 - Evenflow
Evenflow has had just the one career start but shapes up decently off the back of it for Peter and Paul Snowden and he comes in here with natural improvement second up. He debuted a week ago at Kensington in the midweeks when coming across heels four wide in the straight to battle home just behind the placings when doing more than enough on debut. He should shape up well off the back of that here.

BEST BET - #2 - Detendu
Feature race of the day here and I think that David Pfieffer’s Detendu shapes up as the leading contender in it. He debuted two weeks ago at this course when jumping awkwardly and contacting another runner but recovered and chased hard throughout the entire run, losing a fore plate in the process but still finding plenty in the straight to run home well and just miss to one other runner then. I think he shapes up very well off the back of that and should be stronger here. 

THE DANGER - #11 - Redbreast
Redbreast is a Waterhouse and Bott debutant and I think given the way that the stable goes with their juveniles he has to be respected here. He clocked a sharp trial win at Rosehill two back when beating some smart horses from which there has since been two subsequent winners and then went out for a Randwick trial last time out where there has again been one runner out of that who has since won. I think he’s going to make a big debut here now. 

VALUE BET  - #6 - Je Reve (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) 
Je Reve made his debut at the races two weeks ago at Warwick Farm for the Ryan and Alexiou camp where he steadied off heels at the 800m and was wide without cover from that point but still kept finding plenty when coming on strong in the straight to run into the minor placing well. He should take a stack of improvement from the debut run and also shapes up fitter now, I think he only runs well here at a nice price.

BEST BET - #5 - Vinolass (NEXT BEST)
All you can do is win and Vinolass comes here chasing his fourth career win at his fourth career start coming back from a long 44 week spell untrialled for the Dryden stable. All of his wins have been asserted with a certain level of dominance and there has been a combined 17 winners come out of the three races that he has run and won. He gets a good draw here, the booking of Lloyd and is the one to beat for me. 

THE DANGER - #4 - Tycoon Jenny
Tycoon Jenny comes back to racing for the Waterhouse and Bott stable off of a 25 week break for start number four and has to rate highly with the set up she gets for the return. She gets in light with the claim from McLucas, and has had two trials to lead her back into racing with the last being quite sharp when displaying a nice stride and she hasn’t run a bad race in her three career starts with a win and two runner up placings. Beautifully placed here. 

VALUE BET - #2 - Dame Cartland
Dame Cartland comes back to racing for Nathan Doyle and seems quite a sharp horse after already clocking three wins in thirteen career starts and now returns here and looks set for quite a big prep as well as having had three belter trials. He’s won two of the three trials and the winning trials have both been very sharp. Only runs well here for me.
