Wednesday Racing Tips - Warwick Farm Racecourse 10/01/24

Short but sharp card tomorrow at Warwick Farm with seven races on the program and the feature of the day being a 100k super maiden in race two which I am very keen for. I have run through the card and picked out my best betting spots on it and I do think there are some particularly good spots. Follow me below as I outline the days racing at Warwick Farm!

BEST BET - #6 - Listentozou (BEST BET)
Surely it’s time for Waller’s latest import to get the job done. He resumed off of a 22 week break from racing last time out at Randwick at the end of the year’s meeting and was inconvenienced in the run until close to the line before being able to click up and make an impact late to place well there. He should get a more economical run this time around, is fitter and should win this with even luck and Nash on.

THE DANGER - #2 - Magic Shadow
Hard to knock Magic Shadow when he’s had just the debut run for Maher and Eustace but he does rate very well off the back of it and I think is ready to come to this track now. The debut came at Beaumont when stepping out over the 1200m and only going down very late to one other horse who looks super progressive himself. Fitter, out in trip, Day aboard, rates highly here.

VALUE BET  - #8 - Not So Common
It’s hard not to give any respect to Waterhouse and Bott’s juveniles even when they don’t show an awful lot given that the stable just goes so well with them and really knows how to get them turned up even when they don’t necessarily kick off well. This guy looked sharp in the early stages of his resumption run at Randwick before just fading late in the piece. Fitter, off a short break and ready to improve.

BEST BET - #8 - Zip On By (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)  
Might be reading the race wrong but I think that Zip On By is a very sneaky chance in a field where the first few lines of betting are all somewhat milk drinkers given their low win to run ratios and I think that this guy will improve second up now after resuming at Randwick behind a very sharp horse in Chilli Filly and not getting a chance to get into the race until clear very late where he ran home very strongly inside those last 150 metres. Rates well with natural improvement here.

THE DANGER - #4 - Hell Hath No Fury
Is Hell Hath No Fury a milk drinker? I’m not sure but one win in twelve starts and just the two placings has him just too short for me to back here at even odds even though he does look awfully close to another win and comes into this well set up here after running a close second placing when second up at Randwick last time out. He should have this lot covered in theory but he often just can’t seem to put it all together.

Accredited is putting together a handy record for Joe Pride with two wins in five runs and comes into this hard fit and can win again. He last stepped out at Randwick over the 1200m behind Chilli Filly when overcoming a very wide run to jet home and place fourth there. He rates highly coming out of that and I think will be sharp here.

THE DANGER - #10 - Jambalaya
Jambalaya has only had the two runs for Cummings but rates extremely well after winning on debut at The Valley in what has shaped up to be a very impressive win as she looked to have plenty in the tank winning comfortably but having two winners come out of that race already before last stepping out at Caulfield where she again ran well but just couldn’t get there. She’s now had a very nice tick over trial and looks set to jet again.

VALUE BET - #13 - Rockabilly Rebel
Rockabilly Rebel is a horse I can entertain at longer odds for Bjorn Baker after the way he trialled for his return to racing. He’s a smart horse who has already won one from six and placed in another three and now comes here off the back of two trials, the most recent of which saw him win by a space and looks to have been placed here with a fair bit of intent now. Keen to see how he goes.
