Wednesday Racing Tips - Warwick Farm Racecourse 17/05/23

Midweek metro racing kicks on at Warwick Farm this Wednesday with a short seven race meeting but with just the lone maiden race to kick the card off, there should be some super competitive races with the majority being Benchmark 72’s and all of the races are over the 1100m-1600m so it should make for a very exciting day. The track is rated a soft 7 and the weather should be fair, follow me below as I outline my best betting spots on this week’s Warwick Farm race card!

Warwick Farm R2 - Showtime @ Arrowfield (Bm68) (1600m)

Selections:
#19 - Lyrical Gangster (NEXT BEST) - $5.00
#8 - Celestial Spirit - $4.40
#3 - Grebeni - $3.70
#10 - Resistible - $11.00

BEST BET - #19 - Lyrical Gangster (NEXT BEST)
Lyrical Gangster looks like a very good type for Chris Waller who debuted a month ago at Newcastle over the 1250m where she set wide and was very brave, motoring from the back of the field to arrive at the line and score. She raced at Kembla two weeks back and jumped awkwardly, being pushed into a tricky spot in a big field along the fence and still powering home into third there. Should have plenty of time to wind into things from the wide gate and out to 1600m in a small field and think she will be too strong late with Jmac on.

THE DANGER - #8 - Celestial Spirit
Celestial Spirit looks like a big improver for the Waterhouse/Bott Camp who comes into this third up and should be hard fit. She’s looked very good in her two runs this campaign and looked the winner last time out over the 1400m at Wagga but the fitness told late when she was overrun by the first three inside the last 100m. Clark takes the ride now and they map to find the front from the soft draw and should be hard fit.

VALUE BET  - #10 - Resistible
Resistible has been going ever so close for Mick Freedman this campaign with three placings in four runs and has been progressing to metro grade racing nicely, with the last of his runs being at Kensington when fourth to the likes of some progressive types last week. He was held up multiple times but when finally getting clear air I like the way he found the line, the quick back up signals intent.

Warwick Farm R3 - Chase The Dream (Bm64) (1100m)

Selections:
#8 - Eagle Nest - $6.00
#11 - Waikiki - $6.50
#2 - Wondereach (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $8.00
#5 - Kunnese - $6.00

BEST BET - #8 - Eagle Nest
I am very interested in this race, there looks to be a tonne of speed and a bunch of chances. I think one of the best chances is Eagle Nest who was sold to Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou from Annabel Neasham at the beginning of the year and hasn’t done much wrong in three starts for the new camp with a win and a close placing in three runs. Comes into this just under a month between runs, should bolt up onto the speed and with Clark on and a half decent steer, will look the winner a long way.

THE DANGER - #11 - Waikiki
Waikiki looks like a promising type for Chris Waller who is coming into this second up after making her debut in a Kensington Maiden at the end of last month which was actually a very strong race disguised as a maiden with the likes of Charity Joy and Terra-Master in that race when placing second after jumping awkwardly and contacting another runner. She’s the only one who doesn’t look to run with a hot tempo and if the field burns each other out she will be running over the top of them in the last 100m. Jmac’s on and they’re a top chance.

VALUE BET  - #2 - Wondereach (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
I don’t think now is the time to jump off Wondereach who has been outstanding in his two career starts for Matty Smith, running a close second placing in a big field at Albury on debut before going to Nowra and scoring dominantly with a strong on pace win there over the 1000m. Has had a tick over trial since then at Canterbury just under two weeks ago, where she looked to truck along, beating off a smart horse in Ojai. Looks very well placed to keep the strong campaign alive here.

Warwick Farm R6 - PRECISE AIR (BM72) (1200m)

Selections:
#1 - Air To Air (BEST BET) - $4.50
#10 - Silent Raindrops - $4.80
#6 - Beirut Miss - $10.00
#4 - Arale - $6.00

BEST BET - #1 - Air To Air (BEST BET)
Air to Air looks to be putting things all together this prep after switching camps to Waterhouse and Bott in March and making her return at Kensington over the 1150m where she set five wide and three deep and being ever so impressive coming from lengths back on the turn to power home for a win over the likes of Miss Hellfire and Eye See Things who have obviously gone on to contend much stronger races. She went onto the Heavy after then and didn’t handle the going so forgive that, looks very well placed to go over again here in the softer field.

THE DANGER - #10 - Silent Raindrops
Silent Raindrops is a Joseph Pride trained three year old who comes into this on a short back up of seven days and has been excellent in running this campaign, winning at Wyong two back and going very close, placing in all other outings this prep. Last time out at Kensington last week she wound up to fire home on the straight and just missed out when second and looking for an extra couple lengths. She gets that now out to 1400m and should be super competitive late.

VALUE BET - #6 - Beirut Miss
Beirut Miss is a stablemate to Silent Raindrops who also looks very strong coming into this race third up after a strong win in the wet at Wyong first up and then going to Kensington last week in this grade but in a much stronger race than this where she wasn’t really ever given the chance to wind up and was subsequently eased out of the race. I think forgive that run and take the fitness benefit, from the soft draw and with Clipperton on, she should look very good in this race.

Best Promotions for Warwick Farm Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
