#11 - Waikiki - $6.50
#2 - Wondereach (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $8.00
#5 - Kunnese - $6.00
BEST BET - #8 - Eagle Nest
I am very interested in this race, there looks to be a tonne of speed and a bunch of chances. I think one of the best chances is Eagle Nest who was sold to Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou from Annabel Neasham at the beginning of the year and hasn’t done much wrong in three starts for the new camp with a win and a close placing in three runs. Comes into this just under a month between runs, should bolt up onto the speed and with Clark on and a half decent steer, will look the winner a long way.
THE DANGER - #11 - Waikiki
Waikiki looks like a promising type for Chris Waller who is coming into this second up after making her debut in a Kensington Maiden at the end of last month which was actually a very strong race disguised as a maiden with the likes of Charity Joy and Terra-Master in that race when placing second after jumping awkwardly and contacting another runner. She’s the only one who doesn’t look to run with a hot tempo and if the field burns each other out she will be running over the top of them in the last 100m. Jmac’s on and they’re a top chance.
VALUE BET - #2 - Wondereach (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
I don’t think now is the time to jump off Wondereach who has been outstanding in his two career starts for Matty Smith, running a close second placing in a big field at Albury on debut before going to Nowra and scoring dominantly with a strong on pace win there over the 1000m. Has had a tick over trial since then at Canterbury just under two weeks ago, where she looked to truck along, beating off a smart horse in Ojai. Looks very well placed to keep the strong campaign alive here.
