Wednesday Racing Tips - Warwick Farm Racecourse 22/11/23

Warwick Farm plays host to a massive seven race midweek card as we are well underway with the group 1 races season and I think this card is reflective of that as we see some super competitive and high level fields. I have run through the card and picked out my best betting spots on it and I do think there are some particularly good spots. Follow me below as I outline the days racing at Warwick Farm!

Warwick Farm R1 - James Squire (Bm68) (1000m)

Selections:
#1 - Le Parrain (BEST BET) - $2.15
#3 - Storm The Ramparts - $3.00
#5 - Debello - $13.00
#4 - Mafia - $6.00

BEST BET - #1 - Le Parrain (BEST BET)
Le Parrain seems like a good thing going in the opener here for Maher and Eustace having just his third career start. He got the maiden win out of the way quite easily on debut at Gosford before stepping out to a Randwick listed race in the Brian Cowley where he boxed along the speed very nicely before being overrun late by some smart types. He now shapes up way back in depth and hard fit third up.

THE DANGER - #3 - Storm The Ramparts
Storm The Ramparts has to be rated as a key danger here for Joe Pride and I think measures up very well here. He came from the Newham stable and had his debut for the Pride off of a 31 week break from racing a few weeks back when clocking a very strong win from two wide to power home. I think he will be even sharper here off the back of that run.

VALUE BET  - #5 - Debello
Debello is a smart horse for Gary Portelli who comes here having won two of his three starts this time in. He won first up when blasting a nothing field at Goulburn before having a luckless run the subsequent time out and then stepping out at Kembla Grange in the heavy where he chased hard all straight, overcame the unfavourable conditions and found plenty to just keep kicking and win well. He’s really found his feet this prep and can go on with it here.

Warwick Farm R3 - Ranvet (Bm72) (2400m)

Selections:
#3 - First Light - $5.00
#2 - Father’s Day - $2.70
#8 - Harold The Great (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $10.00
#7 - Loving Cilla - $6.00

BEST BET - #3 - First Light
First Light has been very solid in his six career starts this time in without winning but takes a huge drop off in contest here and the fact that he hasn’t been sent back to the paddock yet for Chris Waller means there is still a level of intent here. He’s hard fit, draws to be on the speed in a race without much pace and with Jmac On, I think he’s a good bet at the odds and can roll this favourite.

THE DANGER - #2 - Father’s Day
Father’s Day is the main danger to First Light here and shapes up very well for Bjorn Baker to get another win. His last two runs he has hit serious form when winning two back at Kensington at the midweeks before stepping out in Saturday competition over the 2400m again in a BM72 and powering home to finish runner up after bombing the start. That was a very honest effort and I think he rates well far back in depth now with King aboard.

VALUE BET  - #8 - Harold The Great (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Harold The Great has had three runs back from a spell and has been improving through the grades in each and also improving with racing. He clocked two sharp placings to kick the campaign off and looked to be working towards his peak when last stepping out at Bendigo chasing hard in the straight and just laying in a bit. He now looks completely set to peak fourth up with the light weight under Tim Clark.

Warwick Farm R6 - Exceedance @ Vinery Stud (Bm64) (1100m)

Selections:
#8 - Accredited (NEXT BEST) - $2.50
#1 - Merry Mac Boy - $3.90
#3 - One Destiny - $6.00
#2 - Akaka Falls - $9.50

BEST BET - #8 - Accredited (NEXT BEST)
Accredited has been a smart horse thus far for Joe Pride in his two career starts and now comes back to racing off the back of a 19 week spell and better for two trials. He won on debut at Nowra before last racing at Gosford when placing third there and then going back to the paddock. His last trial was particularly pleasing to the eye and I think he shapes up well off the back of that. Only runs well now.

THE DANGER - #1 - Merry Mac Boy
Merry Mac Boy resumes here off of a thirty two week break from racing and having his first start for Joe Pride and the way Pride’s runners generally resume combined with the way he improves tried horses and I think Merry Mac Boy will shape up here under Schofield’s steering. His trials have both been smart and I am keen to see how he goes here.

VALUE BET - #2 - Akaka Falls
Akaka Falls should be approaching his peak fitness for Brad Widdup third up here after a break of 18 weeks to which he has two runs back and now comes into this a lot better at the weights with Stanley aboard and the claim of 2kg. His last run saw him improve sharply under Alysha Collett to run second at Kembla and he now comes into this set to peak third up.

Best Promotions for Warwick Farm Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
