#2 - Father’s Day - $2.70
#8 - Harold The Great (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $10.00
#7 - Loving Cilla - $6.00
BEST BET - #3 - First Light
First Light has been very solid in his six career starts this time in without winning but takes a huge drop off in contest here and the fact that he hasn’t been sent back to the paddock yet for Chris Waller means there is still a level of intent here. He’s hard fit, draws to be on the speed in a race without much pace and with Jmac On, I think he’s a good bet at the odds and can roll this favourite.
THE DANGER - #2 - Father’s Day
Father’s Day is the main danger to First Light here and shapes up very well for Bjorn Baker to get another win. His last two runs he has hit serious form when winning two back at Kensington at the midweeks before stepping out in Saturday competition over the 2400m again in a BM72 and powering home to finish runner up after bombing the start. That was a very honest effort and I think he rates well far back in depth now with King aboard.
VALUE BET - #8 - Harold The Great (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Harold The Great has had three runs back from a spell and has been improving through the grades in each and also improving with racing. He clocked two sharp placings to kick the campaign off and looked to be working towards his peak when last stepping out at Bendigo chasing hard in the straight and just laying in a bit. He now looks completely set to peak fourth up with the light weight under Tim Clark.
