Wednesday Racing Tips - Warwick Farm Racecourse 28/06/23

Midweek racing returns to an ever familiar Warwick Farm Racecourse for another solid meeting at the course. There’s seven races on the card that follows the usual structure of a few maidens to kick the card off, this week only two, followed by 5 races to be contested in mid strength Benchmark Grade. There are a bunch of exciting looking sprints on the card with some of the top NSW and outer state stables astutely placing runners who could be onto bigger things. The track is rated a good 4, the rail is in true position and I think we are on for a great day of racing!

Warwick Farm R3 - Bowermans (Bm64) (1100m)

Selections:
#2 - Angel Fund (BEST BET)  - $6.00
#10 - Dakota Vroom - $4.80
#9 - Burnett - $6.50
#5 - Quilting - $8.50

BEST BET - #2 - Angel Fund (BEST BET)
Angel Fund hasn’t put a foot wrong for David Pfieffer in two runs back from a long twenty four week spell when being sent away after an impressive debut at Newcastle late last year. The stable clearly wasn’t happy then and fair enough with the way he has now returned to racing, saluting dominantly at both the 1000m Gosford and then stepping up to 1100m at Wyong and doing it again. This is his home track and you would think still has more upside to give now.

THE DANGER - #10 - Dakota Vroom
Dakota Vroom is an expensive and well bred horse for Chris Waller who was bought as a yearling out of Blue DIamond winner Catchy and obviously looks a good thing going. She ran at the beginning of February on debut at Kensington after a handful of sharp trials and ran a very nice second place to Parisal who has obviously franked the form since. She’s had a sharp trial at Rosehill since and looks to be moving very well. Keen on her prospects here.

VALUE BET  - #9 - Burnett
Burnett has looked very good in three runs back from a spell for Anthony Cummings this time in for just his debut prep so far and won well first up at Kembla Grange in a strong maiden where overcame a bit of a suck run to power home inside the last 200m to win. His most recent run was in Saturday competition at Randwick when running a very tiring fifth place to Overriding over the 1300m. I thin coming back to the 1100m is much more suitable and should go close here.

Warwick Farm R4 - Headwater @ Vinery Stud (Bm72) (1400m)

Selections:
#2 - Green Shadows  - $1.75
#7 - Growl - $4.50
#5 - Philipsburg (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $17.00
#6 - Bullet Wing- $15.00

BEST BET - #2 - Green Shadows
It is probably going to take a good thing to beat Green Shadows and the market is clearly under the same impression. He raced first up off an 18 week spell at Randwick in Saturday Grade at the beginning of this month when missing the start a length, overracing a bit to measure up and then powering home hard in a rave effort behind Phearson. He has seemingly been moving along very nicely since when running in a recent Rosehill trial behind Resonator and looks too strong for these all things being equal.

THE DANGER - #7 - Growl
The form around Growl is the best of this field who was sold to the Snowden’s my by Maher and Eustace in April this Year and has had two runs back this time in off a sixty two week spell when needing the run first up at this track before racing three weeks ago at Randwick behind the likes of Iikes of Iowna Merc and Kibou who the former of which ran fourth in the Furphy a few weeks back. Third up now and ready to peak, very interesting runner.

VALUE BET  - #5 - Philipsburg (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Market probably isn’t giving enough respect to Philipsburg who presents third up and is a winner in 2 from 3 third up runs in the past. She raced under Jennings two weeks back in a BM78 when battling hard down the straight out wide to finish midfield and got a big fitness benefit from the run, looks set to peak third up now and draws gate one, I think she is a genuine chance and am keen to have something on.

Warwick Farm R6 - Proven Thoroughbreds (Bm72) (1600m)

Selections:
#3 - Ottilie (NEXT BEST) - $3.90
#7 - Nostalgia - $2.40
#6 - Smart Little Miss - $10.00
#10 - Smart Little Miss - $10.00

BEST BET - #3 - Ottilie (NEXT BEST)
Ottilie comes into this off the back of a few midways at Randwick in this grade but in tougher, bigger fields and has been racing well. First up he ran in a field of 17 at the end of May he showed good speed to sit outside the leader and took clear lead in the straight, looked the winner but peaked just a bit too early and found one better last 200m and was overran late to finish second. Second up god trapped three wide without cover just off speed and loomed to win before the corner but the tough run told late. Will find this contest a touch easier than what he’s just been in and will be sure to run well here.

THE DANGER - #7 - Nostalgia
Nostalgia has only had the two starts at the races for Chris Waller. Her first up run this time off a 27 week break was a dominant win at Canterbury on June 7 over the 1250m and easily could have won if asked for any effort when second in a trial a week ago at Rosehill. Draws a good gate, has been running and looks very hard to beat here.

VALUE BET - #6 - Smart Little Miss
Smart Little Miss has returned in super order but has been away from the races for a little break now of nearly a month which is a slight query. She drew the widest barrier on returning to racing at this track on May 31st and drifted to nearly 10 lengths off the leader before powering home in the straight to finish third behind Omnia Man. That form reads great for this and should have plenty to offer second up.

Best Promotions for Warwick Farm Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
