Wednesday Racing Tips - Wyong 13/12/23

Racing returns to Wyong racecourse this Wednesday for a cracker $600k race day and I am very keen on a few of the runners that are stepping out for the top NSW and outer state stables. I have run through the card and picked out my three best betting spots including a roughie of the day at big odds so follow me below as I outline the day’s racing at Wyong.

#1 - Scarlet Prince (BEST BET) - $2.40
#4 - Youthfull - $4.00
#2 - Aunt Roberta - $4.80
#7 - Supertrail - $6.00

BEST BET - #1 - Scarlet Prince (BEST BET)
Scarlet Prince comes out of a tough midweek race at Kensington a couple weeks ago and I think can still win with top weight in this field. He was second up there after having a 2 month break from racing when setting second and two wide in the run and just holding second place. He did look to be wanting longer and now he comes into this fit and ready for the trip, Clark booked is a bonus.

THE DANGER - #4 - Youthfull
Brad Widdup is a beast with his staying horses and I think that Youthfull should be ready to fire now fourth up and having had a run at this trip. He has been building towards a win and last stepped out over the 2000m at The Hawkesbury where he came on strongly from the rear of the field to finish just off the winners there. Well placed.

VALUE BET  - #7 - Supertrail 
Supertrail has been flying for the Cavanough stable and has to rate as a key chance here. His last two runs have come over the 2100m and 2300m respectively and in both he has sat behind the leaders before clicking up powerfully in the straight to fall short only to one smart horse in either run. Well placed to go one better now and is crying out for a win.

BEST BET - #2 - Ritzytwenties (NEXT BEST)
Ritzytwenties has been going very well this time in for the Waterhouse / Bott camp and comes into this hard fit after three solid runs back from a spell. He won two back at Goulburn over the 1400m in good time before clocking another very fast and solid runner up placing last time out at Bong Bong. He looks well placed to go one better again now. 

THE DANGER - #6 - Mistress
Hard to knock Mistress for John O’Shea here. She resumed from a 25 week spell last time out at Newcastle where she was taken back from the wide gate before shifting out wide in the straight and powering home to clock some of the best late splits of the meeting and place third. Natural improvement second up should carry her well here.

VALUE BET  - #7 - Silent Russian
Silent Russian is another horse who should be improving into this and can hit hard here for the Freedman’s. He resumed off of a 20 week spell at Newcastle where he came from the reaer of the field to squeeze a gap and fly home for a smart and strong runner up placing after jumping not the best. Should improve sharply here.

BEST BET - #4 - Smiling Prophet 
Smiling Prophet rates the highest in this field by some margin and I think should go very well here off the back of a last start win. He stepped out at Wyong two weeks ago when coming across heels at the 150m and chasing hard to arrive at the line at the perfect time and win very well there. I think he looks incredibly well placed to make it back to back wins now.

THE DANGER - #8 - Bojangles
Bojangles resumed off of a 19 week spell last time out and did so very sharply when winning well at Wyong. The Waugh stable appears to have him going very well here and I think he will only improve off of that run and poses as an honest threat here. 

VALUE BET - #3 - Northumbria (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Another winning chance is Northumbria who came to the Litt stable not too long ago and has been unbeaten since joining the camp. He resumed off of a 25 week break from racing two back when making his debut for the stable and flying the whole run to win well before last stepping out over the 1000m at Warwick Farm and winning very well again. Beware the unbeaten horse…
