Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 04/08/23

Racing returns to Coffs Harbour racecourse and Ipswich racecourse for bumper eight race cards at both courses and we have a particularly exciting set of meetings with the feature of the day at Coffs Harbour being a Saturday race in disguise and I have posted full length Friday tips articles on the site and a feature exotics article in addition to this article in which I have picked out my overall best bet of the day and best roughie of the day and then highlighted where you can get the best odds for these picks across the Aussie betting sites / betting apps. There will be a few promotions going around across our betting apps this Wednesday. I have outlined those and highlighted them below the tips as to get an edge on the bookies. It should prove to be a solid Friday of racing to lead us into what looks like a huge Saturday of racing!

Lots of chances in the opener at Coffs Harbour but I think that Talma I Love Her has a bit of class about her and can take this out. He’s third up today after returning to racing off of a long 22 week spell at Grafton where he looked like he needed the run and then coming here three weeks between runs and showing big improvements to lead here where the winner was on his back all run and got the better of him late when those two were a ways in front. He rates a fair bit over this lot and Wadick retains the ride which sees him get in at 55.5kg and I think he finds the front again and holds these off. Top chance.

Olympic Legend should be set to peak here third up and can take this out I am confident. He resumed off of a 15 week spell when needing the run at Aquis Beaudesert and was three weeks between runs when he stepped out here last time and made massive improvements to find the front and lead until only being run down late in the piece, giving way to his condition. He’s now had almost a month between runs, will be sharper and have retained the fitness off of his last two runs and gets in nicely with the claim from Williams, sure to run well.
