Racing comes back to Moonee Valley racecourse and Canterbury racecourse for two great Friday meetings as we approach the first day of the Autumn Group 1 races season and I have extensively run through the day’s racing and picked out my best bets. As for this article we focus on our best bet and best outside chance of the day as well as outlined our best promotions across the aussie betting sites. Best Tip: Canterbury - R5 - #4 - Unusual Legacy

Unusual Legacy has had an amazing start to his career for Chris Waller and it is hard to see him slowing down now. He’s had just the three runs to kick things off but has won two and placed runner up in the other since coming across from NZ where he won on debut. His most recent win at Newcastle was very sharp and I think hard fit third up here he still has some improvement to put on display.

Best Roughie: Moonee Valley - R5 - #7 - Ice Symphony

Ice Symphony comes back to racing off of a 17 week spell and having his first start for Symon Wilde and I think has been placed with a bit of intent here given the booking of Blake Shinn. He’s already recorded two wins and a couple sharp placings in his 13 career starts and based on the way he ran in a Geelong trial two weeks back he should be very sharp here.

Stats and Insights

Canterbury is a much tighter track than most NSW courses, giving significant advantage to close on pacers and those close to the rail in general. It also favours late rails-in-run horses due to the tight turning nature.

There is a very clear frontrunning bias at Moonee Valley even up until the staying distance of 2000m+, when considering between two selections see where they map to be in the run.

Chris Waller sends an army of runners to Canterbury Park tomorrow and is one of the top trainers at the course so watch for his runners there tomorrow.
