Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 11/08/23

Racing comes back to some familiar suspects with bumper eight and nine race cards set for Ipswich racecourse and Geelong racecourse respectively and we come off the back of a massive bang in our best bets article this Thursday with our $21.00 roughie of the day getting up and I am keen to keep the momentum going before our Saturday Tips come out as the Group 1 racing season begins with Spring racing approaching an official start and I have posted full length Friday tips articles on both these course but below I have picked out a best  bet of the day and best outside chance of the day in this article as well as where you can pick up the highest odds across the Aussie horse racing betting sites / betting apps. Underhand surely makes it three from three here to kick off the card for the O’Dea / Hoystead camp off the back of two very sharp wins over the 860m at Gatton. Both of the runs have seen him forced to post wide and both have seen him run his legs off but he does look like a true sprinter and I think with the big claim from Lang as well as already getting in light he’s going to be tough to beat here. He gets in at just 51kg, maps to find the front or near it from barrier two and there’s not much more to it. Statesmanship’s splits rate amongst the best in this field and I think that he has struck another very winnable race here. He was three weeks between runs when stepping out over this track / trip three weeks ago where he crossed well from the wide gate to lead and looked the winner when kicking two lengths clear at the 200m and kept finding the line well but bumped into a smart horse right on the line who was powering home then. He’s clearly at his best off that effort and doesn’t have to improve much to be winning this.
