Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 14/08/23

Racing returns to the usual Monday suspects with solid seven and eight race cards set for Goulburn Racecourse and the Pakenham Synthetic racecourse and we come off the back of a harsh day for our Saturday Tips but we were able to score our best bet this Sunday at around $2.00 across the Aussie betting sites to close the week out nicely. I am keen to get the week started in a good way and as usual, in this article have picked out a bet of the day and best outside chance of the day and highlighted their prospects in this article as well as  where you can pick up the highest odds across the Aussie horse racing betting sites / betting apps. Naval Commision is the overall top rated horse at this meeting and also the second largest gap to second rated out of all fields and I think that the way Maher and Eustace traditionally are with their stayers he is going to be tough to beat here after stepping out to this trip last time out and doing all but winning. He’s had four runs from a spell this time in, with a dominant first up win in a soft field before putting together three sharp placings, all on the bounce, since that effort and last time out he ran in a 2140m race at Goulburn where he was forced to be ridden hot due to the tempo and track pattern, not really suited to his style, but his class saw him still have a solid kick at the top of the straight before not being able to go on with the winner and placing second. He meets a softer field here, gets Schiller aboard and they draw barrier one so he should get some element of control.

Always looking for those that have recent Synthetic runs when racing at Pakenham and Super Solar rates as one of the highest differentials to the rest of the field at the meeting and I think that hard fit and better for a few runs on the board he’s going to have every chance stepping back out at the mile here today. He put together two super close placings at this track when only finding one better in each when he was just third up racing at the mile here and then was back 200m in trip in the run two back. Last time out he stepped back out to the mile here where set 9th along the rail before being forced to peel widest on the turn to start a big run where he just couldn’t get there behind the placegetters but he was ever so strong through the line and I think now, with less weight on his back, and with the tactics tweaked to have him a but closer in the run he will be hard to beat.
