Racing returns to the usual Monday suspects with eight and ten race cards at Goulburn and Echuca racecourses respectively and I am keen to start the week off in a big way. Our best bets tips went well today with out best of the day getting up at $2.00 across all the aussie betting sites and our roughie of the day coming second by half a head at around $2.00 for the place and getting so unlucky to be knocked off late there by a smart horse. It was a solid way to close out what has been a great week of racing and I am keen to roll into this week in the same fashion. As usual, I have gone across the Aussie betting sites / betting apps and highlighted where you can get the best odds for the best bet and best outside chance that I have outlined in this article. Clovelly looks like a good bet at around $3.00 odds across the betting sites as at the time of writing this in the opener tomorrow. She’s a lightly raced horse for Matty Smith who comes back to racing for just her second prep. Her last prep saw her run five times after debuting, hitting form and pretty much being runner up in each race until breaking maiden at Nowra at the end of her prep to clock a fast time and score impressively. She’s had a few sharp looking tick over trials to ready her for a return and the last of which saw her box along on the speed and finish with a horse who has gone on to win since. There’s clear intent with the stable from the booking of the Dutchman and I think she goes well here first up.

Vadaboom was too bad to be true last time out for Simon Zahra in what was only his second run for the stable since switching camps from Kevin Myers earlier this year. He’s an interesting horse who has shown a fair bit of talent in his four career starts, breaking maiden in just his second run. He raced wide without cover last time out over the 1400m at Werribee and post race it was seen that he had his tongue over the bit there as well. There has already been a subsequent winner from that race and I think he can be forgiven with what were clearly genuine issues. He will be fitter and sharper second up now as he was 10 weeks between runs then, maps to loom off the speed and be strong late and Lachlan King aboard will be sure to give him every chance.
