Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 05/08/23

Spring is in the air as we kick off the Group 1 races season and we have some outstanding racing across NSW, VIC and QLD with listed racing at Rosehill racecourse and Flemington racecourse as well as a great support card at Eagle Farm racecourse and I have posted full length articles on each of the tracks on our website in addition to an exotics article that we recently launched and today saw us hit the first exotics bet for a $192 odd trifecta at 250% in addition to the roughie of the day going over in that same race at $8.00 odds that was in yesterday’s best bets tips which was just awesome to see. In this article I have picked out my overall best bet of the day and best roughie of the day across all three tracks and then highlighted where you can get the best odds for these picks across the horse racing betting sites. There are a bunch of promotions going around across our betting apps this Saturday to give us an edge on the bookies and I have outlined those and highlighted them below the tips. I think we are on for a huge Saturday of racing and am looking forward to it!

Tango Fever looks like a moral on paper here. The super progressive Rob Heathcoate trained horse resumed at this track three weeks ago under Harley when making her debut for the stable coming from Gary Portelli and whilst she didn’t beat a whole lot, the time and the way she did things first up suggests big things are to come. I am happy to take her at around $2.00 odds if you can get that price and think that she likely lobs onto the speed and will be able to find plenty to fend them off from there.

We took a look at what trainer Adam Campton had to say about Deepour’s placement in this race earlier this week in our news articles and he is employing the strategy of bringing in a hard fit, in form runner against the resuming runners who he knows might have more class than him and I think that Deepour is a genuine winning chance here. We were on him last time out when he was completely luckless last weekend and still was incredibly eye-catching when running home into third. He’s never backed up before and Campton insisted he wouldn’t go through with it if Deepour didn’t look rearing to go, so he clearly is and I think his fitness / racing edge might just see him knock these off.
