Shangri La Express looks like a smart favourite and I am keen to be in his corner for the Waterhouse / Bott stable. He debuted three weeks back at Randwick where he was backed well by the market and duly came out and led throughout the run and kicked away dominantly. I doubt the stable has placed him poorly here given the way they are going.

Comrade Rosa is a ripping fresh horse who has taken out far more competitive races than this and I think is an honest chance here who comes up at a big price. Last prep he took out the Dane Ripper stakes before finishing down the track in the Tatts where he produced an end of prep effort. Runs best with fresh legs, has trialled nicely for the return and I think in terms of class he has plenty.
