Ned’s Gully has the highest overall rating differential to the rest of the field out of any field at the Eagle Farm nine race meeting on Saturday and now looks set to make his Eagle Farm debut a winning one. He resumed at Doomben in a midweek meeting over the 1110m where he clocked an impressive win from on the speed there and looked strong through the line so I think that out to 1200m looks ideal if not even onto the 1400m later on and is only second up now. Confident he wins this if he shows up.

Not necessarily from a confidence perspective but Gaius looks like as honest a chance as any and being at around $13.00 at the time of writing presents as a really good betting spot here. He has finished close second placings in both of his last two runs where I think a win in either of them would have seen him be around a $5.00 pop here but both of the runs have been full of merit and the form reads well, particularly his close second placing to Release The Beans last time out and without a clear class horse in this race he can win.
