Racing comes back to some of our premiere Saturday racecourses with a belter $12.7 million day at Randwick racecourse that is highlighted by the $5 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes and on top of that we have great support cards at Bendigo racecourse and Doomben racecourse. In this article we focus on our best bet and best outside chance of the day across the two cards. Best Tip: Randwick - R9 - #2 - Zougotcha

Zougotcha can’t really bring better form to this race than she does based off of her two runs this prep. She beat the likes of Lady Laguna first up and gave her weight relief then before carrying top weight last time out in the Coolmore Classic and still proving too strong for them there. She was then scratched from the Doncaster Mile in favour of the track condition we get tomorrow and she’s proven on the Randwick Mile. I think she’s going to be awfully tough to get past here and am happy to be in her corner.

Best Roughie: Bendigo - R7 - #1 - Sirileo Miss

Sirielo Miss is a very capable horse for the Wilde camp and she should be strong resuming in a race like this. She hasn’t been seen at the races since this time last year when producing a flat end of prep run in the Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes but was brilliant in winning a Group Two and Group Three in the two runs prior. Been afforded a long break and has three first up wins in six first up runs and in terms of class she has panels on most of these.

Stats and Insights

The Bendigo Racecourse is a very spacious circuit with long straights (24m width) and well-cambered turns (6% Camber) which makes it a great course for up and in runners and also lends opportunity to backmarkers to come on strong.
The Bendigo Racecourse has chutes for the 1100m and 1600m that sees runners go around one full 180 degree turn and generally sees rails in runners go over the best at these distances.

Randwick is a very wide track with a good run-in that makes it one of the fairest tracks around. It’s hard to say backmarkers are advantaged, but they are the closest thing to advantaged at Randwick Racecourse

Over the shorter trips at Doomben (up until about the 1350m) outside barriers are significantly disadvantaged. Look for horses that draw inside or have lots of early speed and stay away from those that are backmarkers.
