Best Tip: Eagle Farm - R9 - #5 - Press Link

Press Link looks one of the better bets on the program for Rob Heathcoate after racing here about three weeks ago over this trip where he let them get out in front before letting down in the straight and looking fantastic when beating them by some lengths. No idea what his ceiling is but I am happy to punt on it being something better than this.

Best Roughie: Mornington - R3 - #3 - Fasuto

Last year’s winner of this race at Mornington is Fasuto who is going to be hard to beat again for Clint Mac and resumes in this race after not having been seen since Ballarat Cup Day where he couldn’t do much behind Taunting. It was largely due to the Bog track in my opinion and he will be a lot stronger back in this company compared to those. His recent Cranbourne jumpout was more than good enough and he maps well again.

Stats and Insights

Randwick is a very wide track with a good run-in that makes it one of the fairest tracks around. It’s hard to say backmarkers are advantaged, but they are the closest thing to advantaged at Randwick Racecourse.

Eagle Farm has little barrier bias as the track has quite even wide turns and as such it is good to look for promising backmarkers for the long straight

Mornington is a testing track that is short but sharp, it has an uphill 200m straight. Runners need to be close before the turn to account for this.
