Last time out, it had a perfect run and won, looking much fitter. This horse knows how to bring the heat and last time out at Caulfield, he showed us exactly what he's made of. With Ben Allen in the saddle, he's a force to be reckoned with and could very well take the win again. Before that, Baraqiel finished first at Swan Hill in a BM78 on June 7, 2024 over 1200m. Very good stats when its racing at this 1200m distance. Has enjoyed success in wet conditions and the track conditions should be suitable. Previous success running first-up in it's career and should enjoy the racing conditions at Flemington. In winning form, don't look past it.

Best Roughie: Eugenius #3 Flemington R5

In the recent outing for Eugenius at Caulfield, he came in third, not far behind the leaders. Now that he's fitter, he's got a solid chance of finishing in the top three again, I think. Celine Gaudray knows how to handle him too, so don't count him out just yet. Previously, 6th of 8 at Sandown-Hillside Open on May 25, 2024 over 1600m. Solid top 3 record at track, have a crack. Wet track form reads well too Likes running second-up, good record.

Stats and Insights

Flemington's long straight track can sometimes favour horses drawn towards the inside or outside of the track, depending on the rail position and prevailing track conditions. Betting on horses that suit the current track bias can be advantageous.
The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
Look for promos at betting sites for both Flemington and Randwick for Saturday's racing action.
