Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 23/12/23
Best Tip: Randwick - R9 - #4 - Aristonous
We have backed Neasham’s Aristonous in the past and I don’t see too much of a reason to jump off him now after resuming a fortnight back at this track when flying home and clocking some of the best late splits of the meeting when third to Zoe’s Promise. He will be much more primed to win now, likely gets a better spot in the run and with that should be flying home.

Best Roughie: Eagle Farm - R8 - #7 - Ef Troop
Ef Troop is going very well for Tony Gollan and now comes into this third up and hard fit ready to fire and get the win on board. He most recently stepped out over the 1000m a couple weeks back when near last in the run and storming home to place only two lengths off All That Pizzazz. He should appreciate getting out another couple hundred metres in trip for this and the softer draw will only aid his chances.

Stats and Insights
- Eagle Farm has little barrier bias as the track has quite even wide turns and as such it is good to look for promising backmarkers for the long straight
- Randwick is a very wide track with a good run-in that makes it one of the fairest tracks around. It’s hard to say backmarkers are advantaged, but they are the closest thing to advantaged at Randwick Racecourse
- There is a very clear frontrunning bias at Moonee Valley even up until the staying distance of 2000m+, when considering between two selections see where they map to be in the run.
